So, you've set up how your magic is going to work. Everyone starts at the bottom and works their way up due to training and experiences. When you mean "life-changing," does it have to be physically, emotionally, or both? Magic systems start with a basic skeleton, but you can decide how strict those rules have to be (there are a lot of videos about "hard" and "soft" magic systems like The Last Airbender and Lord of the Rings, respectively). I like how it starts off with a basic elemental Base, but then it grows and becomes more specific as time passes. You could have a Last Airbender/My Hero Academia mix where everybody has these unique powers stemming from one source, but they've become so specific over the years for each person that some might have to dig deep when specifying. Do newborns have one elemental power or all of them, and they focus on one specifically? I can help with a few other worldbuilding aspects (namely geography, history, jobs, and a little bit of religion), but this'll give you something to think about for your magic. Good luck!
