I need a character name!! (anyone else with this issue is welcome to this new brainstorming party....)

I need help… with a character, who came out of #$%^&*!@ nowhere, and does not have a name!!!!!
I will answer any and all questions just pls help,
also heads up i am picky about names so pls dont be mad if i shoot down a ton very quickly

What is the character's gender? Ethnicity? Personality? General feeling/aesthetic?

Male, Anything, [Rude, big ego, cocky, prankster, mistrusting, (cover for shy, creative, innovative, traumatized smol child)], Basically a big shock/surprise/game changer/ and he literally messes everything up by existing…. (One of my MC's Aka this childs dad was NOT who i thought he was….)

Alright, so my characters are all old OCs that I'm trying to re-use and I named most of them with a random Japanese name generator, so they don't really fit at all. I'm mostly worried about two of my characters, Akira and Luna. Akira because she's a girly girl and that's a boy name, and Luna because… Let's be honest that name is SO overused. With Luna, I'd prefer a name that's older because she's a spirit and has been alive for a few thousand years. With Akira, I'd prefer something that starts with A, and no, Angelina or any names containing Angel will NOT work.

Also EVERY SINGLE ONE of my characters need surnames and I have no idea what to do about it. Any ideas? I have 6 characters on here but two of them are siblings so that’s 5, and I also have multiple characters I haven’t added on here that need last names so… 10 or more? I know that’s a lot but any suggestions would be really helpful!

For surnames, I like to combine either short, general words together or just mix up a bunch of sounds, however, some names merely sound cool. Some can also function as first names, but it's all up to you.

Seriously useful website. You can find male, female and unisex names, and also filter the search to only have names starting with a certain letter. This website is probably one of the best for Japanese name meanings, as when you click on a name it will show you all the different name meanings and Kanji combinations it could have, even the rare ones which you won't be able to find on other sites. If you really want her to have a Japanese name, why not just make one of her parents Japanese? Or give her non-Japanese name and have her use a Japanese name as a code name or something? IDK

I don't necessarily want her name to be Japanese, but all of my characters are Mary Sues I made years ago that I'm trying to fix, and my smol idiot self named every single one of them with a random Japanese name generator.

I would just re-name them all but I've become attached to a few of the names and can't make myself call them anything else

big same honestly, I have done the EXACT same thing! When I was super attached to a nickname or name that I wanted to change, I used elements from the original name to create a new one. In your case, 'Akira' might become Kira, which is not a Japanese name, but are still similar to your original name. I know at least one Kira irl (they are Australian), so it is not too rare or mary sue-like, but it is not super common either, giving the name a unique but not 'edgy' feel (sorry if your character is not a girl, as Kira is traditionally a girl's name).
