I’m from Louisiana but the two books I’m writing take place in Wyoming and Montana. I have no clue what its like in those places! If you from there can you please tell me what the terrain and weather are like? Does it snow a lot in winter? Do the woods have rocks and hills? Or is it flat and wet-ish like down here? Ext.

Okay, full disclosure; I'm not from Wyoming. I'm from Arkansas, but I have visited Wyoming, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that it's basically Texas in the North (that's why there's no one there…). If you've ever driven through Texa before (as I have many times) you've noticed the ranch signs. In Wyoming, they're everywhere. It's basically all ranches and farms. And to answer your question about "flat and wet-ish," no, it is not. It's actually very dry, especially at high altitudes. There's a lot of mountains, and the land in between them is this really brushy, dry (but not dead) hill land. It's actually very beautiful– the way the hills roll and the color of the heather is rather striking and could be an excellent way of working with some creative imagery in your story. It is almost reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands, except it rains less. It does, however, snow in the winter, and quite a lot. Enough so that in June, the mountains are still capped in white and the breeze still bears that tell-tale bite of winter.

I am from Wyoming, I’ve lived here for all my life. We have lots of mountains, and we get snow most of the year. The forests are generally filled with pine trees, with some lakes. We don’t have a lot of random rocks, unless you’re going up a mountain. Sometimes there are landslides which cause giant chunks of cliffs to fall in the middle of a river or something. We do have lots of green, sagebrush, and some flat lands. The prettier part of Wyoming is the north with clear lakes, rivers, and lots of mountains. We have deer, Buffalo, bears, mountain lions, bobcats, and most other wild animals. The deer are actually very friendly and will snack out of your hand. If you have any other questions let me know!
I have been using the information you have given me to fix up my story. I do have some questions-
What wild life, mainly small, do you usually see?
What common plants grow around the woods and fields?
In summer and spring, is it usually hot? If so, is lit like 'lets go to the beach' hot or 'I'm melting!!' hot? Or something else?

So, in regards to wildlife:
Foxes are all around, but rare to see- they run away- but they're also a real bright red color.
Lots and lots and lots of deer and rabbits. Everywhere. You think they'll run? No, you're in THEIR territory now.
Oh my god moose. They are bigger than anything you have ever seen. Bigger than that. You will not be prepared, they are terrifying. Luckily they stay far away.
Bears and mountain lions. They stay away from you usually, but do not attempt to find them or provoke them. You are in THEIR HOME HERE.
Bugs. Bugs everywhere. You'll think you've gotten the bug out of your house but it's back. Oh my god there are bugs in the walls, the ceiling, in the toilet, in your bed. They will always be everywhere. And they stink. Buy air freshener and get used to having a vacuum to suck them up, you'll be fine.
SQUIRRELS. SO MANY SQUIRRELS. EVEN ON A MAIN ROAD THEY ARE THERE.
In the summertime, even in northern Montana, YES IT GETS VERY HOT. Not triple-digit weather, but you definitely are not in the snow all year round. It's the worst. If you don't have an air conditioner, GET ONE> It doesn't get cooler at night. And more bugs. An ungodly amount of bugs and deer.
It is the most beautiful autumn you will ever see in your life. Those cliche orange and red and yellow poems about leaves- it's more vibrant than that. There are leaves and squirrels everywhere. Mountain lions WILL steal your dog if you are not observant. Stock up on winter gear.
