Knacks: a medieval magic tale (Open)

This is a world where people, the lucky people, have magical powers. Signs of these powers are "knacks", which can be anything and everything. From being uncommonly good with plants to always rolling fives on dice, it can be random or match your personality exactly. Unsure on a template, basic rules, no set rating but romance isn't really needed, unless you want it, and then no sexually explicit stuff. Keep it medieval rated, peeps. Well, it is medieval but please none of the birds and bees. This will get dark and extensive gore is totally fine, but I repeat, no sexually explicit content! Have fun!

Power: whenever max blinks he becomes re-energized(not hungry, not tired, not thirsty, ect.)
Background: grew up an orphan and lived with a homeless person in a large cardboard box. the homeless person raised max and taught him what he needed to know to live and stay alive in the city (new york or something different depending on where everyone else is). the homeless man died when max was 7 and max was and has been living semi-alone for 3 years.

Power: Is witch/sorceress, but since magic people get burned at the stake she can't really reveal her true power.
Background: Daughter of the king, but doesn't admit it.
Other: Hecka rich. Is secretly an assassin.

(Could you, @Time_And_Reletive_Dimension_In_Space , create a setting, however vague. It gets a little confusing what with one mentioning New York and another a king. Is it another reality (Like Middle Earth), modern day here in the US, or a historical setting? Please, if you would, give us some idea of a setting so we can accomodate our characters better.)
