I have one futuristic sci-fi universe that I’d say is pretty well developed. I’ve got a few planets, space stations, and whatnot. The characters in this universe are my most complete out of my stories because they’ve had a few years in my head to mature

My name is Artimae Moongazer and I am quite ecstatic to be writing this letter! Currently, I have a single friend outside of Vera City, so this is a great opportunity to expand my knowledge of the universe. After all, increasing my sample size of data about the universe can only be beneficial, and because I do not know very much about you at the moment, this is a fantastic vessel for exploration!

Well, my name is Artimae, I am 14 galactic standard years old, and I’m pursuing botany aboard the scientific research station Vera City. We have a population of 17 scientists, including myself, and the last time any one of us left the station was 15 years ago, when the Vera City Project was founded. I enjoy reading, performing botanical experiments, and holochatting with my best friend, Kaz Regor. Is that enough?

Fine! Fine. Ok, um, I’m about 70% human and 30%… not. You see, in our region of the universe, humankind arrived about 600 years ago after they fled their dying planet. An accidental wormhole leap brought them in contact with the rest of the established universe, who had previously considered humans to be too primitive to initiate contact. Surprisingly for many species, humans slipped right into the universal order, dispersing across the settled systems. The accelerated reproductive rate of humans and their flexible and adaptive… systems allowed them to integrate their species with many others, and today, most beings are at least some percentage of human. History isn’t really my strong suit, but I do know the basics! I like more scientific pursuits, personally, but each to their own, I suppose.

I am also fourteen years of age! I greatly enjoy reading as well. Do you have a favorite of the Histories of your people? I wonder at you having one friend. Why is that? Are you lonely? Or do you prefer to be alone? You speak of numbers of Human you are. Is your mother or father from another tribe? Lord Sorás and his sister both married outside of the tribe. The Menna do not think it an evil thing. But many of the AlFen disagree on this. But the ones that Sorás and Arrena married were already half Menna.
I do not understand much of what you speak, (What is science? Is it like healing or gardening?) but I shall try to answer your questions. We live on the island Althálos where we were driven long long ago. We have many worms if we dig for them. I used to do it all the time as a child. And there are many trees and plants and it rains often; especially around the base of the mountain I live on. We have many stars that are beautiful at night. And Soliosi and always comes to us every morning while Seluno comes every night.

The Universe itself is a version of the Earth that I created, an alternate universe of reality, I guess. Is this how you start a letter? I have no idea how to start a letter. I only recently learned how to read and write, despite being seventeen. But I guess I should explain a little bit about who I am. My designation is Theta, but my name is Zenith. Call me Theta and no multiversal boundary will stop me from killing you. But that’s beside the point. Anyway, back to who I am. Zenith Zagami, the one and only artificial human. Just… don’t ask. Since I doubt the feds can monitor these, I might as well mention that I’m a merc. Not really by choice, more like I was literally created to kill and don’t really know how to do anything else. Yeah, you read all of that right, I’m an artificial human designed to kill people. But I don’t really like killing. Cooking is much more enjoyable. But a lot of times, I don’t really get a say in the matter. I mean, the government’s still after me, so a guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do. Oh, I should probably mention that I have a healing factor that makes my pretty much immortal.

You’re 14 too! That’s great! History is not my favorite subject, but I like reading about the origins of different species in our galaxy. I am very glad I received a reply from you! I appreciate that you are concerned about me only having one friend, but it is completely alright. Aboard Vera City, I am the only kid, and while I consider myself to be very close to the other scientists, it’s more like having a dozen parents than having friends. My one friend lives in a hotel halfway across the galaxy, so we communicate through our holopads. To answer the question about my humanity, we don’t have tribes here exactly. We have species and and different sub-species. Both my mother and father are mostly human, but have “alien” ancestors somewhere in their family trees. And science! You don’t have science on your planet?! HOW?!

Sorry! Anyway, you’re really missing out! Science is basically the pursuit of understanding and figuring out how the world around us works. It sounds sort of like your ‘dexár’ is science too, but your people just don’t call it that. Is dexár a weapon or physical skill your people have? I’m afraid I don’t really get what it is.
Wait a second, your people have never left their planet? Do you not have technology advanced enough to leave your planet’s orbit? We have spaceships, which are like ships, but you know, in space, and we use wormholes, big metal circles that surround rips in space-time, to travel faster than the speed of light. How advanced is the technology on your planet? Do you have any sort of instant communication devices or artificial lighting? Please, tell me all that you can!

Why do you not like Histories? How else do you learn the stories of your people? It sounds like different species are like the tribes; Because the tribes were once all the same family, but then they formed the tribes. The tribes were also changed to be different. The Dweorv tribe is small and strong, and the AlFen tribe is tall and darkest.
Is a holopad something to write letters on?
So scientists are like teachers that search for knowledge? You must be very wise to work among them.
A great dexár can be used as a weapon; but they should be used as tools. Zol taught us that way. He had the great dexár, which was light, which pairs with the greatest dexár, which is life. Zol had the power to heal or to kill as he wished. But he refused to fight unless it was to protect his life or other. He taught us to do the same. Our dexár is like an orb of power within us. We can used that power to use the great forces of the world. The lesser dexír are in all people. They can be mercy or wisdom or skill with a sword.
I do not know what orbit is. But we stay on the ground. You have ships that go into the heaven that go fast? Why would worms have metal holes in the heaven? It sounds like our worms are much smaller creatures.
We have many tools. Things for melting metal to make things with. We have no tools for talking with. Why would you need that? Are there many mute? I don't know what artificial means, but we have the light of Solíos and Selún and the many stars.
