The centuries after the War were spent building the new empire. A hero arose, leading the people into a new life, one of peace and obedience to the law. That hero, Odin Corackem, proclaimed himself the emperor of the civilization he had built. His people adored him. His group of advisers went to him in times of trouble. There was peace.
Then Odin died. It was unexpected, and his advisers decided that if the people knew he was gone forever, they would lose hope, and the advisers would lose their power. So they proclaimed that Odin had gone off to the heavens, and would return when they were in time of need. 'He's still with us!' They said. "He will guide us as long as we honor him.'. The advisers formed a cult, requiring the citizens to offer to the statue of Odin, half of their earnings and a drop of blood each month. If they did not do so, Odin would abandon them.
It went on this way for generations, Odin became their god, and the advisers grew more powerful with each generation. They stay in their tower of grey stone and laugh at their good fortune, ignoring the cries of their people as they slowly wither away.
But listen, listen carefully. Do you hear them? They're our hope now. The rebellion. They are few in number, but swiftly growing. It's dangerous, but it's the right thing. They have broken the silence. They have come out of the grey.
