We are working on a project where we have a place heavily based off of Hawaii both characterwise and culturally. We are trying to think of what we could name this place, because while its based off of hawaii it is not hawaii. We have used hawaiian names for the characters thus far. There is more context if necessary!

Thank you Kaelyn, but we don’t want it to be a joke or culturally insensitive. We were hoping for a name that has more to do with Hawaiian culture and such and not really the tourism aspect.
Maybe Koa, Eleu or kaia would be a good name

Considering the vowel heavy words of the Hawaiian language, and from what I know of linguistics, and how you said this place is based heavily off Hawaii without actually being Hawaii, a similar sort of language pops into my head: Eelaiian, from the country/place of Eelaii. (Pronounced EE-lay-EE-uhn, and EE-lay-EE, respectively.) Does this suit your needs?
