Everyone here has such clean lineart and colors and there I am, the one who didn´t pass the color inside of the lines course on kindergarden… (forgive my pity attemp at humor, and in case it sounds weird, Im doing fine, I just have a weird sense of humor… but seriously, everything here looks awesome)

Apparently the only art I make and put on Tumblr that matters is fan art.

Well, is easier to get more recognition with something that already has a fanbase, sad but true, I mean, depends on who you ask, some people like it that way.

(Is it appropiate to put this here?) So… I been trying to make this comic (or graphic visual novel, the page count is more than the average for a comic… Invalid Universeif you are curious) and I still not sure about what style fits it´s better, so far, my favorite version looks like this (not the full panel, just stuff that I crop out and made bigger…):

I basically use lots of soft brushes for shading and put the sketch on top of the lineart, does it look good for a comic? And just to clarify… Im drawing everything again since the story has changed a lot, and if everything goes right It will be ready around august.

Yeah I have like 2 pieces of fan art on it then some other pictures one with a sword and then there is another with a panda and hints of the pan flag around it on the ace flag colors. Then some random other drawings.

I got a few portraits of some old OC´s and yet only one got one note, the thing that got most notes is one about httyd 3, and it didn´t even had a drawing, other than that, a little story on the humans are weird hashtag, and I´m probably rewriting everything about when I have time…

Also Motaki your style looks so cool!! I think it would work great for a comic since it's so original and it gives off a sort of an eery feel to it I love it!

Ah @Motaki I love it! It's really easygoing and very flowing and natural, while still has this strange vibe to it. (though one thing just try to erase smaller unneeded lines but i wasn't sure if you were gonna do that or not so im not makimg a big deal out of it uwu)

Well, yeah, now that I look back at those, some parts of the sketch could easily being ereased, but sometimes I let some of them on purpose so it looks a little bit weird

Amazing drawings. I honestly can't draw humans or humanoid characters. Though I may draw an oc or attempt to at one point.

I learned how to draw humanoid characters (specially fish looking ones) after getting obsessed over Abe Sapien…

It helps that I have really shaky hands when doing lineart :D

Yea I can understand ones like, on the book or on the chest, but the ones definitely on the arms, hands, and faces should be erased or at least the layer on it should be opaque to an extent (if that's an option for you). HOWEVER, you don't need to take my advice, considering I haven't done digital art in one trillion years lol. You're better off with Ella or Project's advice, honestly.

I genuily find your advice useful, and yeah, I´m ereasing the lines on the face and the arms on the new pages, it looks a little bit weird sometimes but Im still keeping the ones close to the lineart just for the aesthetics
