(also fun fact I forgot Silver's hair is blond cuz I imagine it this really bland, mousy, haystack//lack of a color blond, so when I read that I was like "wait her hair isn't blond" but yes. yes it is XD)
Silver found herself an air current and settled into flight, gliding without needing to pump her wings, and let her eyes drift shut. The wind caressed her face, tugged at her hair, sent goosebumps down her arms. Without warning, her eyes welled with tears and she sniffed violently, blinking furiously in denial. I've never been free. Not since before… everything happened. Vague images and half-memories flitted through her mind, but she couldn't lay hold on any of them. I don't even know who I used to be.

Gabriel watches as a few tears streak down her cheeks and cocks his head. He goes to speak, but snaps out of it and remembers his mission.
Get the bird.
He lets out a silent sigh, taking her hand firmly but gently.
(He's got a good hold, so she can't just rip away XD)

Something touched her hand and Silver started, whipping around in time to see a form flying along beside her. She let out a strangled shriek and lost her grip on the hair, wings beating and twisting to find purchase again. Instinctively she gripped the hand holding her own, even as she fell and pulled him down with her.

They start to tumble through the clouds, and Gabriel's wings materialize back into reality, flapping above him to catch the air. He still holds unto Silver, but now with both hands and great strain. He starts to catch the air above them, slowing their decent but not stopping it.
Stop, you're fine!
Silver screamed, half from the fall, half from the terrifying winged form above her that she could barely see. LET GO OF ME, LET GO LET GO LET GO. She wanted to claw his hands off her arm but she was falling, turned now so her wings folded up on either side of her, facing up at her attacker. With a gasp, she choked off her scream and let go of him, trying to spin and get her right side at an angle where her wing could catch the air.

"I can't hold you up! You'll hit the ground!" He yells, trying to help her up beside him so her wings can catch the air. He strains, still holding her hand, and does his best to keep them up with his wings.
The city was still a long, long way below them, but the points of light looked as if they were rushing up to meet her. With a last desperate twist, Silver swung her right side up enough and beat her wings, finally getting a good flap that meant something. Her right wing caught the air and suddenly she was up and Gabriel was down. His hand still gripped her wrist and she tried to wrench away, effectively righting them both as she pumped her wings, trying to stay in one place and pull away from him.
"What did you do that for, you freak? What are you? What do you want?" she screamed at him.

He looks away, clenching his jaw.
She's talking, what do I do?
He keeps a hold of her hand, now sweating, and thinks up another way he could do this.
She's stronger, I can't- I can't overpower her.
His hair blows around his face as he runs through his options, trying not to grind his teeth with anxiety. Touching her was bad enough, but now he had to answer questions? Have a conversation? No way.

Silver grabbed his wrist and tried to pry his fingers off her. "What are you doing? Get off me, dude. Who are you and why did you grab me like that??" She beat her wings, struggling to stay in the same place, dipping and bouncing around. Squinting through the dark night, she tried to get a good look at him. "Wait… you have wings too?" she gasped, pausing in her desperate effort to detach his hand from her. "You're… what are you?" she whispered, awe struck at the great black shadows that were the only indication of his wings.

His breathing starts to get a bit raspy and his wings slowly disappear, blending into the night around them. He starts to lower himself down to the sleeping town below them but still holds her hand, trying his best to ignore her.
Just, let's sit down for now. Please.
(He flies super smoothly, btw)
"Hey… hey!" Silver yelled, trying to pull her hand away again. "You can't just… where are we going?" her heart began to hammer in her ears and she fought to fly down beside him and see him better. "Where are you taking me?" her voice rose into a panicked shriek. "Come on, say something, you idiot!"

He covers her mouth with one hand, not roughly or forcefully, but in irritation, and finally feels his toes grip the sand under his feet. (he landed them by a lake)(probably a good ways away from Ben's house and more out in the country ish?) He takes his hand from her mouth after it's only been there for a moment and rubs his collarbone with it, still holding her hand.
Please be quiet. Just sit down. It's okay.
Silver squirmed away from him, trying to get as far away as their arm lengths would allow. "Okay dude. We're on the ground. You better start–" her heartbeat still pounded in her ears, but now that her feet where touching the earth her other senses came back, shoving her panic out of the way. Waves upon waves of anxiety and stress were rolling off him, so thick Silver grabbed her throat and fought to breathe. "Dude," she gasped, quieter now. "What is your problem?"

He slowly sits on the ground, trying to level his raspy breathing and rubbing his collarbone so hard it's started to turn pink.
Nothing. I'm good.
He keeps hold of her hand, but with less of a grip now.
Just stop talking. I'm okay.
His hand drops from his collarbone and grabs a fistful of sand, squeezing it under his weight that he's shifted to that side.
We're good
"Hey," Silver said, more gently now as she sank down beside him. "Hey, it's okay." Quickly, she gathered up all the emotions swirling around him and flung them out over the water beside them, clearing the air. "Hey," she laid her hand over his hand that still held onto her. "It's okay, we're on the ground now."

WHAT IS SHE DOING
He flinches away, his heart starting to race again.
Wasn't she just trying to get away??
He lets out a shaky sigh, keeping his eyes looking the opposite direction as her.
His wings lay behind them, sprawled out and barely visible. They sit in the stage between invisible and there.
I can just tell them I failed. I don't think I can do this. She's still talking.
Silver sighed, looking him up and down now that they had a little better light from the glow of the city nearby.
He looked like a pathetic puppy.
"Okay, let's start with something simple." She said, keeping her words slow and calm. "What's your name? I'm Silver." She held out her free hand to him in greeting.

Simple? What am I to you?
His eyes narrow and he looks down at the sand.
Who am I.
He looks up to her hand, biting the inside of his lip till it bleeds.
Gabriel.
He looks up at her face, the wind blowing his un-brushed hair about.
Something spiked in the air around him. Silver didn't know what it was, but she reacted to it before even realizing what she was doing. "Hey, don't do that." She lifted her hand and gave him a firm tap on his cheek with her finger.

He flinches, closing his eyes when he sees her hand come near his face, expecting a smack of sorts.
Gabriel, stop it. You're in charge. She's your mission.
He reopens his eyes, but immediately wants to close them again. The dark was better than socializing. And day.
He looks over her wings, making his completely disappear.
"You should hide them." He quietly states, his voice having a scratchy ring to it.
She regretted her firm tap the instant he flinched. She opened her mouth to apologise but then finally he spoke. It took her a second to understand his words. "Wait, hide them? What do you… Oh wow, you can turn your wings invisible?" She gasped, leaning over to look behind him. "Wow, that's awesome. Are they still there or are they totally gone?" She reached over his shoulder to feel his back where his wings had been.

His wings shoot up behind him reacting to the touch and reappear. He scoots a little bit away, still holding her hand, and bites his lip again.
"You should hide them. It's dangerous. Someone could see you."
His words turn into a mumble near the end and he turns his head away.
Ahhhhhh
"Ooooohhhh!" Silver gasped. "That's so cool!" She moved with him, settling herself crosslegged in the sand right in front of him. "I can't do that. I can just fold them up a little." She demonstrated by tucking her wings as closely up against her back as possible.

Why is she like this
He bites his lip again, avoiding eye contact but watching her perfect, feathery wings.
"I- I can still see them…"
Silver stared at him, blinking. "Well, duh. I can't make them go away. They're very physical and real. Yours are, I don't know, less real. Or something. That's why I've been in hiding for a million years. I can't go anywhere cuz people will see me." She let out a heavy sigh. "This is honestly the first time I've been out at all. I'd never really even flown in the sky before tonight."

He looks back to the ground.

"I can teach you…."
She cocked her head at him "Teach me what?"

"I… I can teach you to.." His voice trails off.

"I can help you fly. And, If you want, it's not hard to- to, ummn, make your wings invisible,"
CAPTURE HER NOT HELP HER
She blinked, staring at him again in silence for a minute until a slow smile spread over her face. "Really? You would help me learn how to fly properly?" She asked quietly.
