The doors to the artificial forest swing open and guards walk in, finding all of the kids and dragging them out. They pay little attention to injuries and carry the dead out on stretchers.
Ben's eyes go wide as he watches a child he'd seen earlier be brought out on a stretcher. He clenches his jaw. Next time he'd know it was life or death. Next time he'd stay with a group.
