Derlik would have responded to Kye, if not for the fact Wren had caught him off guard. The god, as promised, was frozen right where he was the moment Wren's hand went into his mouth. He glared down at the man, shocked. How did he know?? Derlik hadn't bothered reading through earlier parts of the chat…

Elliot is typing…
Elliot: I'm kinda surprised he hasn't come bursting into my room yet…

Wren glared at the god before him, his arm inside his mouth up to his elbow now. The insides of a god felt disgusting despite the hollowness of it all. It was then that the boy's fingertips brushed against something smooth. Gotcha.
The Claimed grabbed hold of the soul and tore it out with a hard yank. He watched the image of Derlik dissipate into the orb in his hands. It was larger than human souls, which was expected. And despite the fact that he held his enemy in his palms… he couldn't smile. "Cocky bastard…" he muttered, before turning to sit on the ground with his phone again.

Kye felt something strange fill his entire body. In all his years, nothing like this had ever happened. The forest around him seemed to cry out, the other souls around him confused.
Something was wrong… and he had a feeling it had to do with Wren.

Wren is typing…

Derlik was… Enraged. Unlike human souls, when like this Derlik was actually trapped inside the orb that Matt up his soul. He paced back and forth, letting out an scream of frustration.

Wren glanced down at the orb in his palms upon hearing a tiny, angry screams. "Doesn't feel good not being in control, does it, darling?" he asked. The pet name felt disgusting in his own mouth as it sounded when Derlik said it. "I'll tell you what. After a little longer in there, I'll let you go and you can kill me. I don't even care if you erase my soul if that's a possible thing," he suggested, seeming entirely bored. He glanced at his phone.

Wren is typing…
Wren: I did. And I don't care. I've died before, I can die again.
Wren: I'm making him suffer like he made all of us suffer. If only for a little while.

Kye is typing…
Kye: … you don't have to do this.

Wren is typing…
Wren: Yes I do. I'm tired of sitting in here being punished for something I'm not sorry for. I'm tired of being used.

(He snapped.)

Derlik glared at the wall of his prison as he heard Wren speak. Oh, he was going to, even if it meant sparking a war with Marcos. He'd crush Wren's soul to dust, feel as everything that made up the boy fell between his fingers and turned to nothing.

Elliot is typing…
Elliot: Wren…
Elliot: I'm getting Marcos. This is going way too far

Wren is typing…
Wren: Why? You said it yourself. He's an ass. The only reason he won't let me out is that I won't consent to a memory wipe again. I can't. I want to care about him so damn badly, but it's really hard. I wasn't even his in the first place.

Kye is typing…

Kye: +Wren stop it. please, you can't talk like that. i know him, and he wouldn't just kill you. he'd destroy you.

Wren is typing…
Wren: I know.

Wren finally let a small smile onto his lips. He let out a dark laugh. "At least you'll finally get your original wish. You'll get your sacrifice."

Derlik was fuming, but what could be do? He put his head in is arms, sliding down against the wall of his prison until he was sitting.

Elliot out his phone down, hurrying out of his room towards Marcos and the garden. He threw the door open, hurting in.
"Marcos!! Wren, he-" Marcos's head shot up when he heard that name, shivers going down his spine.
"How do you-?"
"It doesn't matter!! He, he did the thing with Derlik, a-and once the god gets out he's going to destroy-" Marcos almost dropped the soul in his hand, putting it down quickly before running out the door to where he kept Wren. He didn't even bother trying to make sure Wren didn't sense him. He had to make sure the man didn't open the orb with his finger nail- free Derlik, and seal his doom.

After a few more moments, Wren tapped at the side of the soul in hand. "I think I'm ready. Tell me how I get you out," he said. It was at that moment, the boy felt fear through the tie on his soul. "Marcos knows. You need to tell me before he gets here."
He didn't want Marcos to see him. He wanted to be gone before he arrived. He didn't want to know if the god who claimed him would cry for him or not.

"Press your thumb nail into the orb so I can rip your soul out," Derlik growled. He was too upset to think, of what this would cause. How much it would hurt his son. The war that was sure to come.

Marcos was almost to the room, his heart pounding against his chest. He couldn't- he couldn't lose Wren. Not any more than he already had.
This was all his fault.

Wren did as he was told, feeling Marcos's presence closing in. He shivered, thinking of the way the god used to look at him. The way he smiled. The way his warmth felt when he hugged him. The nights he cried after the Astral visits.
"Tell Kye it's what I wanted. He won't understand, but at least it's the truth."
