Vethec: Yes, Maia… I suppose it is story time. I've kept this to myself for long enough… I'll not keep it inside any longer.
Karea: Do not ask me. The memories are hazy, and after all, I am technically not the same.
Vethec: Fair, my love. Anyways, a long, long time ago, me and Karea lived in a peaceful moutain village… nothing interesting ever happened. That is, until Karea and me alone started developing strange powers. Me, the powers of the demons, as it was put so eloquently by the village elders. Karea was treated different… since she developed what were called the powers of the angels. I got jealous, slightly… by that time, we were courting each other. When my powers started changing me, her parents and friends started acting more disatnt. Karea is the only one who stayed with me. I… He pauses and sighs I lost my temper eventually. One of her friends was making rude comments, and I finally snapped. I summoned a hellhound, and it killed her. I had no time to explain, because I was getting screamed at and chased out of the village. Later, I found out that Karea and some others had been killed by that creature. I nearly died right there, my soul curling up and shriveling to nothing. My presence caused kingdoms to fall in a year, caused crops to wither and die… I thought I was cursed, until I met Death, who took pity on me and made me his physical form… permanently. I had no issues with this, as I had given up the hope of ever being human again. And then, eventually, I found my way here… and Karea found her way back to me. The rest, you know.
