She looked up at him and held his hand. "I'm sorry."

"My son… He… Died…"

"You had a son?!"

"Yeah… And he never told me he loved me until he was about to die…"

Her eyes watered, and she bit her lip, looking down. "You never told me you… had… other wo-" She couldn't say it. Tears slipped out of her eyes.

"I didn't want to. I don't love those other women anymore." He said, tryong to assure her

She didn't say anything, just slipped her hand out of his.

"Darling… I've been around forever…" He stated.
"I'm sorry…"

"How long ago was it?"

"1830s."

"Did you… get married to her too?"

"No. She died during child labor."

"And… I can do many things, but the one thing I cannot, if just one, is bring people back from the grave. Her name was Mary…"

Her head spun. So many questions. She simultaneously wanted to hug and slap him.
All that came out of her mouth was a thin wisp of words. "I'm sorry…"

"Slap me. I know you want to…"

She looked up at him with teary eyes. "Voz…"

"What?" He hated himself. He hated hiding this from her

"I just… you're not… you've…" Just say it, Nyx. But the words wouldn't come.

"Not a good person. I know. I've hidden this from you, and I hate it."

"No, it's not that, you're a good person…" She hugged him.

"Then what is it?" He sighed, about to cry. He never cried

"Nothing, nothing." She leaned against him.

"I'm sorry. I've shoulda told you. You know, you'd liked Ben."

She opened her mouth to tell him it was fine, but what came out was, "You're not a virgin."
Realising what she had said, she turned pink.

"What do you mean?" He had adopted Ben, actually. So he WAS a virgin

"If you've had kids…"

"You forgot about adoption."

She looked up at him with wide eyes. "So are you?"

"I am… A virgin. Sadly… Lucifer teases me about it…"
