“Aw what a cute name! The closest I’ve ever had to a pet was uh a raccoon who stole from my tree. We fought each other. Oh and there was this one time I fought a bear…” Tristan ranted

Tessa found a room with five grown, heavily muscled men, each taking turns at wresting with each other. She grinned and carefully pried open the vent, silently dropping down behind them like a cat. Scales ripped across her skin, forming her personal set of armor. Her knuckles and hands were heavily armored, creating weapons as well. None of the men noticed her entrance, too busy cheering each other on.
"That sounds….fun?" Lacie didn't know what to say.
“Uh huh!” Tristan nodded

One of the men spotted Tessa and shouted at his buddies. She smirked. "Hello, boys. Mind if I join?" The shout and question traveled though the open vents, just barely reaching the group as a faint echo.
Lacie looked up. "Did you hear something?"
“Yeah, it sounds like Tess May be fighting,”. Tristan said using his sharp hearing

One man ran forward, but she sent a swift punch to his throat, then his stomach, then tossed him across the room. Two more ran after her. She took them down without a sweat. Her grin turned wicked and malicious. "Who's next?"
Lacie cracked a smile and sighed.
Tristan flopped in his back, tired.
Lacie got up and started to jump. "My legs fell asleep." she explained
“Oh thank you!” Tristan propped himself up with the sweatshirt

The rest came after her while the others recovered. She danced around them, being a dancer in her free time, and smashed two's heads together, spraying blood and making the others hesitate. But for only a second. They yelled and charged, surrounding her on all sides. She was outnumbered and had a limited supply of magic. Perhaps she overestimated her strength…
One caught her off guard and grabbed her hair, slamming her against the wall. She cried out in pain, her scalp throbbing and teeth singing.
"I suggest I go, I have some fighting experience." Lacie volunteered
Tristan jumped up hearing the cry and climbed into the vent without hesitation, when he got through to the other side he slipped on his brass knuckles jumped through the vent landing feet first into one of the brutes head
"Tristan! Wait!" Lacie yelled after him. If Tess is having a hard time then it's not safe for Tristan.
“Stupid brutes! Don’t hurt her!” Tristan yelled, attacking as many of the guys as he could, there were only a few left, the others laid in the floor unconscious.

Tessa didn't necessarily see Tristan, but she could smell him. "Tristan! Get back!" One of the men grabbed the boy from his shirt, dangling him in the air. Another came up beside the one holding Tessa. He began punching her vigorously. "That's what you get, little girl!"
She gritted her teeth, arching her back at the pain. "Tristan!"
“Hey put me down!” Tristan screeched, “Stop hurting her!!” He swung his fists and feet, managing to hit the guy in the face so he could escape. He knocked him out and started attacking the guy who had Tess, “I’ll save you Tess! Stupid nasty brute!”
Tristan got in front of Tess before the guy attacking her could land another blow.

She snarled as more men appeared. Dammit. I didn't think this through. No wonder Cin has me on a short leash. The scales turned to dragonic limbs, wings flaring from her shoulders and smacking into the men. A spiked tail lashed out, slamming into the charging men as she let out a roar of defiance. She didn't need fire to win this fight. She was a weapon in her own right.
