(Story.)
The ground shook as the ceiling of the tunnel split open, flooding the darkness with light. Stairs materialized out of the wall, giving them a way out of the tunnel. Max was suddenly there, congratulating them all with their current success.
Tristan frowned at Max, still not well acquainted with him and angered the cat can’t just get them out of this place, “Ah, it’s you.” He said dryly.
"It is, indeed, me. You have made it farther than 4/5 of the groups. The next challenge awaits." He walked away, into a tiny cubby that appeared in the wall for him.

Tessa glared up at the cat but hurried out of the tunnel. "I fottuto hated it there." She censored herself for the sake of the youngsters, just barely containing her anxiety.
Tristan rolled his eyes but followed.
group
"Where's Ronan?" Tess demanded. (I almost typed Zeus since that's what I changed his name to. Had too many R names)
Enderstorm managed to squeeze her way out of the tunnel, extending her wings up instead of out to fit through the space which was barely big enough for her.
Anna followed her, climbing the stairs eagerly. When she made it to the top, the arena was different. There was still a space in the ceiling for the sunlight, and it lit up a huge expanse of sand. The whole arena had been replaced, no more trees or dirt. Just a lot of sand. In the middle was a cage, and she could see Alex and Ronan and a few other prisoners inside.

Tessa curled her fingers into fists as she and Ronan locked eyes. Whoever runs this place is gonna find out I'm not putting up with this crap.
Enderstorm immediately noticed the cage and bounded over, looking for a way to break them out.
group
Ronan shook his head miserably at Enderstorm. "I already tried," he said.
Undeterred, Enderstorm grabs at the side of the cage and attempts to rip it apart. She dents the bars, but does little else.
group
"See?"
Tessa marched up to the cage, rattling the bars in frustration. "Is it fireproof?" He shrugged.
group
"Hmm," Tessa stalked around it, judging its strength. "I'm stumped," she admitted, slumping her shoulders.
group
(Maybe a hidden switch that disables the invincibility and opens the cage?)
(ooh that's good) He was on the opposite side when he noticed a slight outline. So slight that he almost missed it. He knelt down and ran his finger along the line. "I think someone else might have to press this. It looks like it's going to take more than I've got." He jokingly flexed his skinny arm.
Enderstorm moved over to look at it, shifting into her small human form.
Tristan watched them work and looked at the two imprisoned people.
