She seemed to quietly purr at the touch as she ate, and was secretly glad he didn't want to talk about it.

She smirked. "But I'm not normal." Her pupils briefly turned to dragon-like slits and the iris seemed to glow, then it all went back to normal.

"Get a room you two." The lion girl from earlier approached, crossing her arms over her chest as she approached them. Tessa didn't seem to be disturbed by the girl, instead sticking out her tongue at her.

"Zia. A sphynx, before you ask." Her feathered wings ruffled slightly, and her four lion legs shifted to face him head-on. "Just wanted to congratulate you. That was an impressive debut."

"I feel like shit," he admitted. "And how was it impressive? I was nearly killed by a skinwalker."

She snorted. "Skinwalkers are cowards. They pretend to be the big fish by putting on a fake identity, but as soon as a bigger fish confronts them, they run away with their tails tucked between their legs." She nodded respectfully at Runner. "And you handled it well before it got out of hand. It barely got a single shot off before it wet itself."

Zia turned to Runner. "Once qualifications are over, those that met the judges' standards will be called down to start the first round." Her lion's tail swung from side to side. "Other than that, I do not know."

Zia snickered and padded away with a wave, heading back out of the cafeteria.
Tessa dug back into her cake, whining when she dropped some crumbs. "Zia's the leader of the Jade Ravens, a newer and similar group to mine in its diversity. If you couldn't tell by the name, everyone in her group can fly." She informed Runner while cleaning up her mess.
