“What’s wrong?” Xander asked, his eyes kind of mirroring her fearful expression.
He made sure both of his hands were clearly visible to Evie so she wouldn’t be afraid he was hiding something.
"The fire it senses evil," Ellie mumbles "Oh ya You don't have to hide," Ellie says to the tree.

Evie's gaze flickered from the ground, to the people, then back down again. "D-Did I frighten you?" she asked softly, in almost a whisper.

Evie's eyes looked over to him quickly. She wanted to go over and see if he was alright.
"No, you didn't scare me," Ellie told Evie. "Xander someone else is here," Ellie said looking at Xander.

Arien had never felt this pain. Perhaps it was because he couldn't remember anything. Either way, he realized something: he was linked to his fire in more ways than one.

“Yeah, that fire…” Xander said.
“Hm… something strange is happening.”

The fire seemed to flinch. Arien stared deep into the heart of the flame and saw a face.

Arien reached out to touch the face. It leaned into his hand, warming him.

The more she tried to stop it, the more powerful it became against her. A surge of energy shot out of her fingertips. Several of the trees around her fell, fortunately not landing on anyone. She flinched.

"Who are you?" Arien asked. The face shook as if to say no. A tendril of flame pointed to Arien.

"Who am…I?" The face shook again.
"You are…me?" The face nodded.

"Someones in there," Ellie yells running towards the flames

Xander looked for a gap in the flames. He started running, and he then suddenly disappeared. There was a shadow that went zooming across the forest floor, and where it ended up, not so far from Arien, Xander reappeared.

Arien touched the face again.
"How..?"

“Hey, can you hear me?!”
Xander was standing very close to Arien. He had his hand held out. A few tongues of flame came dangerously close to him.

Arien looked slowly to Xander. He nodded his head, then turned back to the face. She mouthed a word:

Then the flames disappeared.
Ellie looked at Arien through the flames "He's hurting." Ellie Yelled. She started running through the flames. she was in a lot of pain but she still kept running

Xander felt the sting of a single burn across his forearm, but otherwise, he was unscathed.
“That was… what was that exactly?”

"I don't know…" Even as he said this, Arien felt a strange tugging in his mind, as if he should remember.
