It was too late. Nyx had already made it for her.

He completed the passage in two hours

Nyx, who had been keeping an eye on Luna, as well as various other flammable things, looked up when the sounds of building stopped. "Oh, is he done already?"

(I hafta go be back in like an hour or two)

(Okay!)
"Yep!" He said, walking out into the kitchen, smelling like sawdust still

(Hullo I'm back, I thought it would take longer XD)
Nyx went faintly pink. "Hi. You're done already, I take it."

"Indeedy!!" He stated, still shirtless. The sweat made him sexier

Nyx, bright pink, forced herself to avert her eyes. "So, we're building the room next, then."

"Oh, I thought you wanted it to be connected to my hiding room?"

"I do, but I thought I was going to have, like, a room of my own. It's okay, though. It means I can decorate your hiding room with my things." She smirked.

"Ha! no." He went back in and built a seperate room as well.

Nyx frowned and followed him.

He finished up within a hour or so

Nyx sat and watched, helping where she could.

"Done!!" He said, finished

Nyx smiled. "Thanks! Now to furnish it. Can we go to Home Depot again?"

"Sure!" They went to home depot again

Nyx picked out dark grey paint, fluffy light-grey carpet, and a few chandeliers.

"Okay then…" He bought it and they left with the items

A few hours later, both of them, covered in paint, collapsed, exhausted, onto the floor of Nyx's hiding room.

He flopped onto Nyx

Nyx, surprised, hooked her arms around his neck.

"What are you doing?" He asked

"You're practically on top of me," she pointed out. "I felt like it was the natural thing to do."

"Fair point!!" He said.
"Cuddle me."

She obliged, tucking her head into the space between his jaw and shoulder.
And then she realised.
She had seen Phoenix do that to Seven too, and vice versa.
She closed her eyes.

He held her close to him

Maybe this is what belonging feels like, she thought.
