He lifted his hand as if to touch her, to comfort her, but he bit his lip and dropped it. "I guess. But at least you're making some sort of stand."

Tempest looked up and smiled slightly at him. "I guess.''

He stared at her as she smiled at him. He didn't know what to say–as per usual. He was just mesmerized by her smile.
Tempest blushed at his intense look. "So… where's your brother…" she trailed off.

"Ah…" he coughed awkwardly and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Well, pretty sure you know where Leon is." He turned slightly to let her see Levi–who was busy laughing his ass off as he watched Leon flail about underwater. "Levi's over there."
Tempest looked over. She stared at the horizon, admiring the sunset.

"Tempest…" he started, then pinched his lips together. He wanted to spend some time with her but wasn't sure how to ask.
She turned to him. "Yes?" She fiddled with her necklace, waiting.

He was silent for some time, trying to sort out his words. He just sighed and gave up, instead sending her his vague thoughts of wanting to spend some time with her.
Tempest blushed. "A-alright."

"Really?" He perked his head up curiously, surprised she said yes. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
Tempest rolled her eyes. "Of course!" She sent him a soft smile.

He offered one of his own. "Ah, so… how about some food? I don't really know how these things work…" he muttered the last part.
Tempest laughed slightly, sure her face would explode. "I know this really good place to eat, just a few miles away…"

"Great. That's, ah, great." He offered an arm. "Shall we?"
Tempest took it with a blush, and led him to her car.

Lance bit his lip as he eyed the car. "Um, fair warning: I have no clue how to work those things…" he mumbled.

Tempest laughed. "Well, it's a good thing that I do." She climbed in.

He slid into the passenger seat, still wary. He found himself envying his brothers' ability to easily adapt to change. Especially when it came to technology.
Tempest noticed that he was uncomfortable and lay her hand on his shoulder for a moment. "We can walk if you want."

He looked over at her. "Well, I've had how many years to get used to modern technology. I suppose I should get my head out of the ancient ways as soon as possible."
With a laugh, Tempest removed her hand and started the car. She drove to a small cafe a few miles away and stopped, getting out.

He followed her mutely, looking around his surroundings. "I don't believe I've been here."
Tempest shrugged. "Not many people have." She went inside. The inside was peaceful, and modestly decorated. She slid into a booth.

He slid into the opposite booth so that he was facing her. He looked away shyly. Now that he was alone with her, he wasn't so sure what to do.
"So…" Tempest said awkwardly. "What's… why were you in the park that day I met you?"
