He took another napkin and started folding it as well, fashioning it into an origami dragon while he waited.

Tempest brought the food over and sat down across from him.

He looked up, then handed her the completed dragon. "That smells good," he commented.
She blushed as he handed it to her. "Thanks." She handed him some food. "So… why'd you make a dragon? And not a goat?" She grinned slightly.

He rolled his eyes. "Because dragons are more complicated, and I want to challenge myself. And because of the obvious." He gestured to himself.
Tempest laughed slightly. A few guys came in then, and one spotted her. She had her hood off, and her face was visible. The guy whistled.

Lance whirled around and narrowed his eyes at him. "She's taken," he warned.
Tempest smiled sweetly at the man. She walked over to him, waving her hips seductively. Leaning over, she whispered something in the guy's ear, too quiet for Lance to hear, and his eyes widened before he and his friends left in a hurry. With a tiny laugh, she returned to her seat.

Lance eyed her and the retreating men, then looked back to her with a raised brow. "Seeing as it is hard for me to discern how you can be so threatening, would you mind telling me what made him and the others hightail it with their tails tucked between their legs?"
Tempest giggled. "Well, if you're this pretty, you learn some tricks." She grinned. "And how dare you say I'm not threatening? I am very scary."

He smiled and rested his chin on his hand. "With that cute giggle and smile? Quite the contrary, my dear Tempest."
Tempest blushed slightly, glancing down at her feet. "I feel like I should be offended."

He hid his smile with his hand. "Alright then. Compromise. You're threatening to others, but just not to me."
Tempest narrowed her eyes playfully. "I don't know…"

Lance rolled his eyes playfully. "Just as stubborn as me, I see. Very well." He leaned forward on the table and looked Tempest in the eyes. "At times like these, I forget what a great–and scary–warrior you are. Mentally and physically, if the nymphs were any indication."
Tempest blushed. She had meant it as a joke, but… "Well, I'm not that great." She shrugged.

Lance sighed jokingly. "And we're back to the banter." He picked up a random piece of food and held it up. "Shall we eat, Miss Scariest-of-the-Land?"
She grinned. "We shall, Your Oldness."

"My gods," he muttered, laughing softly.
She grinned mischievously at him. "Oldest eats first."

He stuck out his tongue and started eating.
As she ate, Tempest thought through what he had said. "She's taken." What had he meant by that?

Lance ate in silence, mulling over the war between the gods–and Aurae, who had unfortunately shown up to interfere as well.
It couldn't mean that he liked her… could it? No, she was nobody special.

"You're strangely quiet," Lance pointed out. "Anything on your mind?"
Tempest started. "No. Just admiring the view."

He raised an unbelieving brow, taking another bite.
She shrugged at his look. "What?"

"You don't look like you're 'admiring the view.'"
"Don't I?" Tempest grinned. "You're a view, aren't you?"
