Callie blushed a little, looking to the ground as he started walking back through the forest.

Zain followed behind, a real smile on his face, granted, it was small.

Callie opened the door - it made a rusty creaking noise, although he couldn't know - and led Zain inside, shutting it behind him and heading up another stairwell.

Zqin shivvered, looking around with disgust. He hated closed spaces, so, so, so much.

Callie looked back at him, a little worried, but didn't sign anything until they reached the top and were back in the cafe again.

"Oh thank god we're out if there." Zain muttered to himself, composing himself back to his smirk.

Belle watched them enter from behind the counter. She pulled a pen from her pocket and scribbled on a napkin. You're the one who was with Melody, right? Where'd she run off to? Who's this?

Callie looked from Belle to Zain, eventually turning to him, hoping he would translate to Belle for him. She went down the stairs. This is Zain. We went back up the stairs.

He translated Callies sign to the woman, smirking with confidance.

Belle nods and turns away.

Callie turned to walk out, making sure Zain was still following him as they walked out into the bright light.

When they got seated, Zain clicked his hiring aids back on. "So, tell me about you" he signed.

I'm from Australia. So if I did talk, it would be with an Australian accent, Callie signed back to him, brushing some auburn fringe out of his eyes with a metal hand.

"That's adorable." Zain laughed, smiling widely. "My family is from russia, actually." He signed back.

Callie blushed a little, continuing the conversation. My mom was in the air force, so I got to fly planes a lot. I didn't have to wear headphones, either. I could never hear the engines.

"That's awesome, I can barely drive a car. I get too distracted." Zain admitted, admiring the person in front of him.

How did you learn how to sign? Callie asked him curiously, the lights of the restaurant shining against his tan face, orange freckles standing out.

"I'm a bit hard of hearing, my magic slowly numbs my senses." He signed with a small frown.

I'm sorry. That is kind of cool, though. What else can you do with it?

"I can numb almost anything, senses, hearing, bodies." He replied, sipping from a water he may have stolen from someone.

Oh. That's really cool. He looked down for a moment. You already know this, but I'm a cyborg.

"Now that, is cool." Zane signed, happy the focus was off him for a bit.
