A PSA on image uploads

I've seen this question a lot on the forums so I figure I'll just say this once elaborately and then direct people back to this thread instead of explaining it new each time.

There are a few ways to go about it, like google docs or imgur or what have you. I use this one because I feel it's the easiest since it makes the picture appear directly in the discussion.

1. Upload the picture to one of your galleries (I created a character board specifically for all the image uploads, but anywhere is fine.)
   
2. Save it and click on the image.
   
3. It should open in a new tab.
   
4. If you copy the url from this new tab and paste it into a forum discussion it should just show up as a normal picture (like so:

Do you know if this works with GIFs as well, because there have been times where sometimes they load and sometimes they don't. Maybe it's just in image galleries?
