Fruit Basket of Dorks (cause their nicknames for each other are fruits)

@Juicebox

I got a zombie and a vampire– named James and Zoe. In my story, they've lived before an event called the 'Great Calamity,' and roamed the land for some time before ever meeting each other, then the main characters. By the rules of my story, races like zombies and vampires aren't technically allowed to marry, and zombies cannot produce offspring, however they still stick together.

These ships were all so interesting to read about! I've got so many (most of which were from past rps I've done with close friends of mine), and I'm not sure which one to talk about first…I think I'll start off with Tazai and Haruko.

Ooh, this looks fun. My favorite ship of mine is Daniel and Grace. They met when they were kids and became fast friends. As they went through school, they were inseparable, along with another friend Emily. As they grew to be teenagers, they started dating and are just the cutest couple. Grace was forced to join a ballroom dance class and instead of being alone, Daniel joined the class and they dance all the time. One day, Daniel invited Grace on a date but she declined because she had to help her parents in the lab. As Daniel was walking by later, he saw smoke rising from the direction of the lab. He ran there but didn't make it in time. He saw Grace's parents outside in tears and despite his efforts and screams to get inside, he couldn't get past. Grace died that night. After that, Daniel refused to love. He fell into depression and was so sad all the time. On Grace's birthday years later, he was visited by her ghost who told him that he had to move on if not for his sake, then for her's. Daniel trusted her and married their other friend Emily. They had a daughter who they named Grace. I love Grace because she knew that Daniel and Emily's happiness was more important than her's. Thanks for reading!

Karaleen and Derya. When she was young, Karaleen gave herself up to a curse that would kill her on her eighteenth birthday to save her brother's life. Running out of time and determined to avoid her fate, she seeks help from the rumored Witch of the Waters who could supposedly break enchantments. Instead of finding the witch, she finds the daughter of the sorceress, Derya. Since Derya's mother has disappeared, the two make a deal that if Karaleen helps find the Witch of the Waters then, in turn, the curse will be broken. At first, the two start off with a rocky relationship and have a bit of trouble getting along but after a voyage on a pirate ship over magical seas, they learn to understand each other and grow close. Eventually, they fall in love and become a sword fighting sailor and sea witch power couple.

Tazai was a member of the Mafia. He was fairly sadistic and very cold, treating his apprentice badly. He had an ability that could diminish anyone else's with just a touch or wave of the hand. He is deeply in love with Coke (the drink), and often tried to drown himself in it. He was very passionate about the things he loved, but he didn't care too much for others. Then, Haruko was accidentally swept into the Mafia. She was cold, emotionless, and lonely. She had an ability that she could not yet control, one that made poisonous plants sprout from the ground and destroy people with a simple touch. She had never touched a person without killing them, seeing as her ability was out of her control. Tazai was the first person she had ever touched without having to worry about him dying. He was the only person she could touch. Her emotions were mixed and very simple most times. She never showed any of them. Tazai was terrified of Haruko. She was physically stronger than him, and was easily able to punch him into a wall or throw him across the room. Her presence made him uncomfortable. Two years after Haruko joined, Tazai slowly started warming up to the emotionless girl. He was able to talk to her for long periods of time, and he began to become used to her emotionless voice and cold demeanor. She then accidentally told him that she had liked him for a while after another attempt at frowning himself in Coke. She was quite embarrassed, but she slowly came to the realization that Tazai accepted her feelings and even returned them with his own. Although they weren't officially dating, they both stayed by the other's side and were often found sitting quietly with each other. When another member of the Mafia (His name is Leon, he was eight years old. Yes, I know that's young, but he was there only because his older sister Maria was a part of the Mafia and she was badly wounded so he decided to stay with her.) found an old radio down in the basement, someone thought it would be funny to hold a small dance. Well, the leader of the Mafia, Ataga, got a bit too enthusiastic about this idea, and soon they were having a couple's dance. Tazai decided to take the leap and ask Haruko to dance. When she stated that they weren't a couple, he pulled her onto the dance floor and stated "We are now." Her wall began to break down as she danced in his arms, and she began to show her real emotions for the first time. Tazai was happy to see her this way, and he realized that during those years that Haruko had been with him, he had lost his cruel ways. The next day, there was news of a predicted enemy attack, but they didn't know who it would be. In the evening, Tazai and Haruko watched the sunset and drank tea together. Haruko was questioning his method of attack, and Tazai told her that he only ever used his ability and his strength. He'd never use any kind of weapons, such as a gun or a blade. Haruko agreed with him. She got a call and forced herself to leave Tazai's side to go on patrol. Before leaving, she told him that she promised that she would be back to watch another sunset with him. With that, she left.

A few minutes later, fifteen gunshots rang out from the garden. Tazai found Haruko's body, strewn out over the grass and flowers in the faint moonlight. He grieved as it turned to dust, and he began to turn back to his old cold ways. A year later, he was encountered with the one and only Kalmir, who proposed a deal. He had to defeat a god to save the remaining lives in the Mafia. A bit earlier, he had caught Haruko's assassin, a robot names Seventeen. She would be the one to guide him through the challenges. Unwillingly, of course. With that, Tazai set off to defeat the god and save the Mafia. And he found the god. And the god speared a dear friend of his through, letting the younger boy bleed out onto the ground. That made Tazai absolutely snap. He threw everything that he had at this god (the god wasn't really a big one, just a minor god), and after hours of battling he finally brought them to their knees. As promised, Kalmir allowed the Mafia to live, and decided to throw in a little something extra. He drained the gods life source (It's complicated.) and allowed for one more person to return with their new life. So, as Tazai was returning to the Mafia, he found Haruko standing in his room, looking as lovely as ever. And just recently, they decided to get married.

James and Milo, no exceptions. It’s a gay Wolf and Dragon parining, both have been through a lot, very protective of each other, and even had a child made for them thanks to a scientist. Milo was cheated on, and was left in the dark… James never felt love before, but he’s glad he did. They are so cute together, and most importantly, they are very happy together.

book

^^WALL! (Good job.)

gasps because Sora and Tenzo
thanks god because Cassia and Declan
weeps like a mad woman because Enyo and Cassian
dies because Rhyece and Fenrir
laughs because Selene and Jericho

So many feels for my babies.

book

But do tell the story of each one. I want to know!

book

Hydro and Astra. This doesn't count really because they are too young. But you just know they are going to grow up and get married. (I have to many ships. Notice?)

book

Zol and Pyra. Zol is a complete moral paragon who is a good leader but can be kind of stiff, and with romance a complete klutz. Pyra is just a very active person. She is pretty much perfect for him. She is great at support but will not hesitate to take the lead and get stuff done if necessary.

This counts platonic ships/friendships, so anything goes.

gasps because Sora and Tenzo - These two just decided to be together with zero intervention from me and are being sassy little shits about it. That and their both very adventurous. They play off of each other very well and in the end it really just makes sense.
thanks god because Cassia and Declan - She's a literal broken cinnamon roll kitten and he's the giant doberman with a heart of gold that keeps and eye on her
weeps like a mad woman because Enyo and Cassian - So. Much. Pain. And unnecessary death (what is wrong with me?)
dies because Rhyece and Fenrir - Because they're perfect for each other but plot keeps them apart.
laughs because Selene and Jericho - For being powerful leaders of races, these two are idiots when it comes to people and romance.

So many feels for my babies.

@daviejoneslocker

These ships sound rather interesting!

book

Connor and Jania. They need more development, but she is this sassy gal with issues and he is a boy who questions authority who is not quite as self sufficient as he believes.

book

Lucas and Zara. Lucas is a smooth cool dude who gave away his old life to run away with Zara and her sister Anna. Zara is this spirit full of determination. She has a hard shell but will never give up no matter what.

book

Soáki and Alena. Alena becomes his best friend when he is isolated from everyone. Soáki has an awakening to love because of her. (Sadly, murder. Hate you Neirym.)

Okay so:
Therese and Nich: They meet in prison, but Nich is there because he's a con artist and a thief, and Therese is there for being part of the rebellion. They team up to escape and then Therese falls in love with Nich's cousin Nell. She and Nich have a friendship made of snippy remarks and trust.
Asher and Fern: Try their best to protect each other, and are both secretly royalty.
Stephen and Leah: Stephen is kind of a human disaster, and Leah and him are both in a rough place when they meet and they keep each other in line.

book

Fitzlan and Rogin. They love each other a whole lot and people will make gay fanfics about them. They are both 100% straight though. They mirror a relationship I have with my best friend. Sort of. We used to role play with them, then I put them in a book and they became their own people.
Fitzlan is the one in charge who has his stuff together. He is calm, smart, and an excellent friend.
Rogin (that's mine) is kind of hot headed and can get up to foolishness. Luckily Fitzlan is there to restrain him.
They are the medieval equivalent of For Forever friendship.

@daviejoneslocker

Platonic ships are very unique and interesting!

First, we've got Alex and Savannah. Alex has know Savannah for YEARS, but since they were 4 years apart they didn't see each other much through school. Savannah was the first friend Alex made when he moved to his new home with his new parents. Alex was quite shy and he didn't know how to make friends since he didn't really have any at his old school. They hit it off, even with their age gap. Savannah was mature for her age which Alex liked. They often role played as fantasy creatures and Alex was always the creative type who made up the stories to go along with it. Then, high school rolls around and Alex is so happy to see his best friend. Alex was scared the she had changed but she was still the same old Savannah. Now, everyone always assumes that they're dating but they're just really close to each other.

MORE ROMANCES!
Frankie and Kat: Literally a modern-day version of Benedick and Beatrice from Much Ado (it's for a musical I'm working on). Also their ship name is Corrleone.
Claudio and Liz: Literally a modern-day Claudio and Hero, except they actually make up and have personalities that get focused on.

This ship started out as a joke, but then I grew attached to it.
Kayla and Riley. The two are best of friends in my universe, the problem is that Kayla is already devoted herself (in my separate universe) to not be with anyone and protect Milo from harm. Riley is probably one of the most underdeveloped characters, but she still tries to get Kayla to change her mind. Poor Riley….

@csn-skittles

Platonic ships are great lol - I have a pair who remain completely platonic throughout the story and get shipped far too much for their own comfort.
My absolute favorite ship currently, though, is of a precious pair from my fantasy - Sea and Sam. Sea reluctantly agrees to help her friend in a certain quest - meeting Kira & her brother Sam along the way (it's rly complicated idk). Sam's pretty renowned around as an insanely good swordfighter but Sea easily defeats him, leading to rivalries throughout the storyline. In the end, they literally have to stand together against their enemy, and they end up saving each others' lives multiple times and it's absolutely wild. Sam's the only person Sea ever tells her full story to, so I guess that's enough trust. Also, at the end, they travel their world (also with a hecc ton of wild adventures that aren't noted in the story but yeah). It's seriously half-platonic but idk.

This cracked me up more than it should've lol I have a friend named Alex w a sister named Savannah & also another close friend named Savannah ouch

I love this pair as rivals.
Stardew and Trouble have that kind of relationship where they're constantly vying to be better than the other. People ask them why they aren't dating, they glance at each other and go "No thanks".
They've kissed before, but it's all for show. They'd kill for each other, but then never let the other forget it for the rest of their life. They're ridiculously petty, and it's fun to watch them in action.
Their relationship summarized:
"Want to know why I hate Trouble? Because he's in my limelight, and I want him ejected from the stage-door" - Stardew

@M.W.Poel

"Want to know why I hate Trouble? Because he's in my limelight, and I want him ejected from the stage-door" - Stardew

that's a great sentence, I'm glad to have read it.
I'm especially fond of my written relationship between Naxaschirgal, Malin and Rostal which is in no way romantic or in some way even a friendship. So it's not really a ship but I don't do well with romances.

Malin doesn't like Nax at all despite him being the first person she recruited for her circus. In her eyes, he's a necessary evil she needs to reach success. Rostal she sees as a friend with whom she can share her passions and whom she likes to tease and watch how he panics when she angres Nax or any other entity considered to have power.
Nax does not understand the reasons for Malin's actions in the slightest but she's undeniably one of the most skilled artists and adventurers he's ever met. Rostal is a fellow honourable warrior and a pawn for him to use.
Rostal is terrified of both Nax and Malin, respects and admires them as if their supernatural entities from another world and is simultaneously happy to call both his friends. He's the middleman who's trying not to get burned.

Now, there is some discussion among the other circus folk about their love life. some are convinced Nax feels a onesided love for Malin. others think Nax and Malin are hiding their rlationship. Others think Malin and Rostal are in a relationship and a few are adamant about Nax and Rostal being an item.
