"This isn't that place. But there is more….so much more. You have trained for a long time." He rubbed his nose.
Yet another Character Chat
"I mean, I guess i've been training for about half my life now"
He nodded, not feeling the need to say any more.
Alice looked slightly confused but mostly curious. "So what's this 'so much more' you're talking about??"
He frowned again. "A lot of combat based. Something with your arms?"
She thought about it for a second, "well most of my spells involve my arms" she stated "could you be a little more specific?"
"A lot of energy. Comes out of your palms." He put his arms out, hands open and pointing it to Alice. "Like this."
Alice rubbed her chin like she actually had a beard to rub "Hmm. Palms." She thought about it "Oh yeah, you mean my telekintetic push/jump thing?"
"I guess. You can change the air too. Make it look like you're there when you aren't."
Alice let out a slight laugh "It's not changing the air, silly." she explained "I can extend my Magic energy pool and make it seem like i'm somewhere i'm not as a diversion. they can also be used to cast spells since they're just made out of Magic energy"
He nodded. "Yeah, that. Something….electric." he twirled his pointer finger. "I can feel it on my fingertips."
She studied Runner, "are you a Magic mimicker, or something?"
"I actually can't do magic. I'm just….observant."
"huh. are you human?"
"Yeah. At least, I think." He looked at his hands, studying them.
"Yeah that explains it…" Alice hesitated "What's up with your hands?"
"Something's walking up." He clenched his hands and opened them again. "It wants my hands. It's not good, either. I'm just hearing…voices. Telling me to sleep. I think it's a Wendigo."
Alice slowly raises her left hand up to her mouth and bites the end of her finger. It starts bleeding and she evenly rubs the blood on the end of each finger.
"I think I can help with your Wendigo problem." She presses her hand against the ground and an albino Griffon forms from a dim, gold light.
He stared at the Griffon, then looked back into the woods. "It's not going to stop. I don't think it's a normal Wendigo."
Stardew glanced between them. "How do we fight a normal wendigo?"
"Kill it. Its heart is a shard of ice the shape of a man. Shatter it, and it'll revert back to who it was before it turned. But there's something weird going on."
(I swear I'm not making this up)
Trouble blew a puff of hair out of his face. "Can't be anything normal, can it?" He sharply turned and barked, "Ever been kicked?"
"Might have been," replies a voice, and Foxglove drops out of the trees, dressed like a gentleman thief.
"I've brought the stuff," Foxglove said, brandishing a rucksack.
"It's being guided by something. It's not acting out of hunger." He continued to stare into the woods, completely ignoring the newcomer.
"Do you have my sword?" Stardew asked Foxglove. "We've got some kind of weird, unnatural being coming and I'd really rather have something other than my pistol and my wits."
Foxglove hands her her sword, and draws his own.
"Does it have anything it hates?" Foxglove asks Runner. "Like, silver? Holy water? A type of wood? Something that can kill it or keep it away?"
"Do you have a blade of silver, a box made of silver, and a church at hand?"
"All our swords are made of silver," Stardew said, "and we've got lots of various other silver items too, probably including a box. Is the church really really necessary?"
"If you want it dead, yes. But we're just trying to escape. Just chop it to shit, in all reality."
They all exhale. "Well, this'll just be like killing a vampire, then," Foxglove says, clearly already envisioning the fight with relish.
The other two nod.
"so uh" alice said "i guess hopper isn't going to be much help?"
