“Why would you throw away ice cream?” Alpha stared puzzled at Cassie as she licked the ice cream residue at the bottom of her half eaten cone.
Cassie shrugged. "Because I didn't want to eat that much," she answered.

Karina stared at Cassie quizzically. If she didn't want to have to eat a whole cone, she could have easily asked for a smaller portion in a bowl. Really, everyone here was hard to understand. Looking away from the others, the girl took a small nibble out of her ice cream. It was kind of nice to have had some fun with people her age.
“Did you just bite your ice cream Karina? My teeth hurt just thinking about it!?” The small girl shuddered.

The girl turned to look at Alpha again. "How else am I supposed to eat it? With a fork?" she asked sarcastically, repeating her previous action. It wasn't as if she had taken a huge bite out of it or anything. It felt wrong to sit there and suck on it for an hour until it melted all over your hands.
Cassie winced. "Oh, stars, I can feel the toothache."
“You lick it, Ice Queen.”

Karina was taken aback by the nickname. Her eyes widened at first before narrowing into a light glare. "Ice queen? Seriously? It included the edge of the cone for stars' sake!"

(It was less of a lick but not an exact bite and I didn't know how else to put it than nibble lolll)

At that moment Karina wanted to get up and teach her some manners, but again, stayed still to finish her ice cream. At least then she'd have bragging rights that she didn't lose her treat over something stupid.
His eye flickered bemusedly between the girls, glancing at Vesper every so often. Yes, Vesper deserved having ice cream. He did, too, Aquila thought, savoring the vanilla lingering on his tongue. "Ice Queen," he murmured with a quiet chuckle, unable to hold back.
Vesper had a cone with mint chip on it, something he hadn't had before, and was actually enjoying the flavor of. Then again, it was ice cream. He kept eating it, doing the strange way of biting it, just a little, rather than licking it. It looked like he hadnt been taught how to eat ice cream. Which was true. He hadn't.
Cassie looked up at Vesper briefly and sighed exasperatedly. "Ah, Ves, not you, too. You're making me physically cringe."

Salem walked over a plopped down by Cassie then rubbed her head on her leg
Cassie flinched away from the animal, walking several feet away. She'd never been a fan of any animal that could be described as a dog.

Salem lifted her head to show her collar and it had Cade's name on it
Cassie leaned against a post, staring at nothing.

Vesper raised an eyebrow. "My name is Vesper, not Ves…and what am I doing to make you cringe?" He asked, still eating his ice cream in that strange way.

Salem got up and walked over to Alpha then sat in front of her
“Oh my stars! Hi! Oms! Is this a wolf?!” Alpha began to shower the canine in love and adoration and did an eerie realistic howl while smiling at the it- fangs and all.
Cassie's eyes widened. "Sorry, I - sorry. I'm used to giving people nicknames, but, um - your ice cream, you just - nevermind," she shook her head quickly.
He blinked. "I…uhm…the nickname is fine." He replied slowly. "And…what about my ice cream?"
"It's- the way you're eating that - I din even know what that is. You're just supposed to lick the ice cream, not - like- chew on it," Cassie put her hands over her face embarassedly. "Nevermind, ignore me," came her muffled voice.

Karina gave a softened look towards Cassie, but didn't say anything. She then turned to Vesper and gave him a small smile. "Apparently it's absurd to eat ice cream different than everyone else," she said, thinking back to just seconds ago with Alpha and Aquila teasing her with that dumb nickname.
Vesper cocked his head slightly. "Oh." he replied to Cassie. He looked at Karina. "I suppose it is." he looked back at Cassie, head still cocked. "Like this?" he took a hesitant lick of his ice cream, raising an eyebrow.

Cassie removed her hands from her face and gave a small smile, nodding. "That's the proper way."
He wrinkled his nose slightly. "Okay…but why does it matter? It tastes the same either way."
