"So why don't you answer my question in the meantime?" he asked with a knowing smile.
Maria nodded. "Right."
"So why don't you answer my question in the meantime?" he asked with a knowing smile.
Maria nodded. "Right."
"I already did." He was trying his best to not just yell and curse.
He sighs, his ears turning a bit pinker.
"That's the only reason?" he insisted.
(… Is he blushing?)
Maria reached her office door and opened it.
"And you're annoying me."
(I thought we where hinting at that before. But if I just read it wrong. Ok.)
Clint was behind her
"Why did you leave?" Kate spoke up, looking at him intently.
He turned his attention to her. "I didn't leave. Your mother kicked me out."
(No, it's totally fine!)
Maria walked over to her desk and nearly collapsed into her chair.
Jackson stayed back.
(I read it wrong I think.)
"Woah! Hey. You ok?"
Kate narrowed her eyes. "Why?"
"She thought I was a bad influence on you."
(Read what wrong.)
She blinked for a second, then nodded. "I'm fine."
"Jee. I wonder why…" Jackson rolls his eyes.
(I though Maria did the night before in the rp when they where looking at the plans. But again. That might have been me.)
"What happened?'
He looked at Jackson evenly. "Why are you so concerned about my relationship with my daughter."
(Oh, yeah, she did. I forgot about that.)
"Nothing," she said, shaking her head as if shaking off a daze.
"I dunno."
(Yeah…)
He pauses but was silent and nods
"There are always reasons for our actions," he objected smoothly.
(facepalms I forgot… Do you just want to run with it…? It'll be awkward XD)
She powered on the computer and waited for it to load.
"Look. This is a conversation between you and your daughter. Not me."
(I dont really care lol)
Clint leans against the wall
"Then why did she ask you to stay?" he challenged.
(We'll see, then I guess XD)
She opened up the files for the blueprints again and shook her head. "I can't believe we missed this."
"I didnt. I'm here for her." He nudges Kate's shoulder.
(K then XD?)
"What? Missed what?"
Kate looked over at him and smiled weakly.
"This. All of this," she said, motioning towards the screen. "They were planning to destroy us."
"So just answer her questions. I'm not even here."
"Again." His voice had become bitter
"What did you do that make her kick you out?" Kate asked.
"I didn't do anything," he replied.
Before he could say more, Kate interrupted him. "There are always reasons for our actions. Now tell me what you did."
She clicked on a new file and reports on different S.H.I.E.L.D. agents popped up on the screen.
Jackson was silent with his arms crossed.
Clint starts to pace
His eyes held hers evenly. "You think I'm a bad person, don't you Kate?"
"I never said that."
"Oh, but your eyes are telling me."
She blinked, startled, and looked away.
Maria's eyes widened. "Oh my God…"
Jackson snarls but otherwise doesnt move.
"What?" He cricks his neck looking up
"It's surprising, it really is, what people give away with their eyes," he remarked.
Kate kept her gaze down. "What did you do?"
"Clint, they know everything about us…" she murmured.
"You sound like Loki…" he hisses under his breath.
He walks up to the front of the desk, "What do you mean?"
Kate's eyes widened. She quickly pulled Jackson aside to a place where Louis couldn't hear. "So I'm not the only one."
"Look," she said, pulling up a file marked Barton, Clinton.
"What?" (Ah shit! He be Loki?!)
He walks around the desk to look. He skims through it, his eyes pausing on Spouse: deceased. He took a deep breath and stood, "What the hell?"
"Did you see his eyes?" she muttered. (…)
Maria bit her lip. She could see her name on the list, but didn't click it. She didn't want to see how much they knew.
"I… wasnt paying attention?"
Clint shudders and snarls, "What?"
Kate pressed her lips together. "You don't think that he's actually Loki, do you?"
She looked up and over at him. "What?"
"I was just saying the he sounds like him. An asshole."
"What?"
She rolled her eyes. "True."
"I didn't say anything…"
He shrugs.
"I'm confused…"
