"Your Majesty," Decay said as she bowed, "allow me to explain. I may have come from the ice kingdom, but I do not side with them. I have nothing to do with whatever's going on, I was just coming to pick up some things for a venture across the ocean to the place my dad came from."

"Who," she said as she stumbled on her words, "what are you?"

"No soul," Decay said with a hint of surprise, "you sure don't seem like it." She jumped a little before steadying herself with her wings.

Decay jumped a little as he did that before mumbling something along the lines of "how can something so small go so fast" to herself.

"No worries. Why do I feel like I'm forgetting something?" She muttered. A loud roar came from the other side of the castle. "RAGE, GET OVER HERE NOW!" The voice yelled. "That's why. Come along please." She said, then flew to the arena.

Decay followed the princess, shaking a little bit to see who her mom was exactly. "This is going to get scary," she thought to herself, "I have no idea what could happen."

Rage dived into the arena, where her opponent was waiting. Her opponent was none other than Peril.

Decay landed on the outer rim of the arena, crouching low to make sure she was undetected. She thought it was probably just a mistake earlier, but she could never be too careful. She took a second to look around before crouching a little further to watch the match. She lost her footing for a minute when she saw that the princess's opponent was none other than Peril; she then had to make a whole ruckus with her wings to get her back into the crouching position.

"Claws up, wings ready? Fight!" The announcer called. In seconds, Rage had Peril pinned to the ground. She didn't seem affected by Peril's firescales. With a growl, Rage took Peril's head in her talons and snapped her neck within seconds. "We have a new champion!" The crowd erupted in cheers.

Decay lurched back as she saw the battle happen from the sidelines. Sounds surrounded her head and she could hear loud distorted music playing. Something wasn't right; doubt and anxiety filled her head as the music grew louder and louder, until it hurt her ears. She let out a wail that sounded as if she had been touched by Peril's firescales and everything went silent all of a sudden. She knew she had turned attention to her, but she didn't care. Her vision flickered on and off, distorting the world as she knew it, and white noise played in her head. She let out small pants that she couldn't hear and fainted.

Rage dashed to her, Decay collapsing onto her scales. "What are you doing, Rage?!" Said Queen Scarlet. "I'm helping her, mother." Rage said, then darted away, Peril's body still in the center of the arena.

The unconscious hybrid shuddered in Rage's talons at the sound of Queen Scarlet's voice. "No," she said in a weak voice, "you're dead. You have to be."

Scarlet laughed. "I am very much alive, thanks to my daughter." Rage growled, then muttered something.
