"Of course?" She furrowed her brows, looking at him like it was the most obvious thing ever.

He shook his head, typing his phone's number into the dialer from memory. "Smart people, I swear…"

"Aaaww, you think I'm smart~" She cooed teasingly, poking his cheek, before returning to digging through her pockets. "I have a habit of misplacing my phone. So I change the password each week to protect it."

He shook his head in response, tossing it back to her as the sound of a ring tone reverberated around the tiny room. A 1 minute search produced it from the cushions of the fold-out couch. "Alright, are we ready to go now?"

"I don't know how we didn't figure that." She said, making a face as she tucked her phone away. "Of course it was in the cushions."

"Yeah, it was a bit obvious." He slid his phone into the right pocket of the shorts, cracking his knuckles. "I'm probably not gonna ride any rides, you know."

"Well that's no fun." She huffed, placing her hands on her hips. "Not even one?"

"I'm terrified of heights," he admitted, rubbing his stomach. "And I don't really like the feeling in your gut, either."

"There goes my ferris wheel idea." She said, making a face, before turning towards the door. "We'll play the games, then. And see if there are any low rides."

"I'll go to town on some kiddie rides," he joked with a grin, reaching around her to open the door for her. "Atleast I can hold the cotton candy while I'm on them."

She shot him a wink in thanks, slipping out of the apartment. "I wonder if they've got anything like the teacups. Those are always fun."

"Last time I was on one, I spun it so fast it came off its bearings," he admitted, shutting the door behind him as he walked out after her. "Nearly had to pay for it until I flashed Amity."
He didn't even notice that he started calling his symbiote Amity.

She snorted, shaking her head. "We'll try to avoid destroying the rides. And threatening the ride workers."

Klaus grinned in response. "Should I just weird them out and speak German the whole time?" he asked.

"We'll save that for a back up plan. I'm still learning German, not fluent." Peggy said, nudging him with her hip.

"Slacker," he said, shoulder-bumping her back. "I'd have expected you to know Upper Saxon German by heart two weeks ago."

"You expect too much of a chronic procrastinator." She huffed, fighting a grin. "Learning a language takes time, Klaus."

"I learned two at the same time, woman," he said as they reached the main elevator in his apartment building.

"And how old were you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow as she pressed the button for the elevator. "'Cause you know, it's easier to learn a language the younger you are."

He tilted his head, genuinely thinking about it. "Well, Mom always spoke German with me so that's what I spoke at home. English….I probably became, like, 100% fluent at 12, 13, maybe?"

"There you go." She said, pointing at him. "Case closed. I can try, but I'll never speak it as well as you, or learn it too quick. I'm old."

"But you could make a fucking translator earpiece to do it for you," he said, rolling his eyes as the door opened. "You don't have to grind it out."

"Maybe I want to learn it myself." She said, shoving her hands into the pockets of her jacket as she stepped into the elevator, turning to lean against the wall of the small space. "It means more."

Since the elevator was so small in such a shitty little apartment complex, their shoulders were barely inches apart as he reached across her to press the 1 button.
"Seems like a waste of time. Like doing a test fairly when you have the cheat sheet right in front of you."

"And what happens if you lose the cheat sheet, or it tears?" She raised an eyebrow, her cheeks warming just a tad at the close proximity. "Sure, I've got the tech, but technology breaks, you know. It glitches, and there are too many variables."

"Take care of your shit for once, Pegs," he said, leaning against the back wall.

"I do!" She huffed defensively, shaking her head. "It's like I'm cursed or something. I lose everything."

Klaus rolled his eyes in response. "It's all operator error, sweetheart. Things don't grow legs and run away from people."

"It's highly possible, when it comes to the lab." Peggy said, shaking her head. "What d'you propose I do, then. T' keep from losing them."

"I'm not the smart one here, Peggy," he said shrugging. "A tracking device on the reactor in your chest?"
