Announcement to all users: Please read

We need to fix our site, we really do. We're withering within negativity, doubt, and toxicity. Guys, it doesn't have to be like this

But only so much can happen at once, and right now, I think that the best thing for this site is to 1) Get a blocking feature for trolls/creepy people 2) For everyone to calmly chill off the General Forums.
It is rather upsetting, as others said before, that nothing other then General Chat and Roleplay forums are being used. If some people on this thread focused a small bit of their energy into building each other's abilities up in the worldbuilding and writing chats, I'm certain a lot of toxicity will fade away. The best cure for negative emotions is moving past them. Instead of taking down this website like others have been saying, we should work together to build it back up past all this drama.
Working together, being patient and caring for one another is the best way to clear this all up.
OGs, let's be mentors to the new generations, let's show them how this site works, give them tips on writing and worldbuilding.
New gens, come to us, help each other, use your writing experiences to make this site a better place.
We're all amazing people, we can do this.

Truly inspiring, Constance, and you're right. Things like drama only have power if you acknowledge them. And while negativity needs to get vented out, it should be in a healthy way. I agree wholeheartedly and am here to do my part in the matter. Thank you for this.

I don’t consider myself an OG of the site, but I totally agree. I pledge to stop shoving my depression and self doubts in everyone’s faces like I’ve been told I tend to do. I will no longer make jokes that can be somewhat offensive stop referencing the cool cat movies, stay near my home, the Video Games page and back away from other peoples issues as much as possible without making it see, like I’m flat out ignoring the, Which I apologize for.

My nEGATIVITY has been pushing me to do better to become someone better which in return boosted my self esteem a little bit. I miss its former state, it took only 4 months of me being active for the site to take a one eighty…

I think the first step would to be restarting the General Chat and Roleplay Chat thing all together then restarting with a fresh new take on everyone. If someone isn’t as skilled, instead of being ignored, they should be helped out a little to push them in the right direction Which I do. No person will have this reputation of Bad RPer or Bad mean person like some do, if anyone should have titles like this it should be me, since I do take things to far and I’m not great at RPing myself.

Yes, and the general chat forums aren't made for just trolling and making useless chats. Please take that into consideration. This website is for writing and everyone knows that. Just please respect what it's made for. (also i'm not saying you can't give advice or just talk to each other in general, just no trolling please.)

Yeah, there are a lot of young, sheltered users here. I notice sometimes older users show disdain towards them too.

Does it seem like that part of the issue is what people expect this website to be? I started using this in the hope it would be a good alternative for /r/worldbuilding on Reddit, while others are here for the roleplaying/socialisation etc.

I don't think we need to restart the forums, what we need to restart is our attitudes. The forums aren't to blame, they never have been. Fix ourselves so we can help fix our site!

Definitely! We could honestly all use a break or something like that to adjust ourselves!

No, I don't think that'd be the right approach. That's far more work on andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) when the problem is us. We need to use the other forums, become role models for younger users. We need to help each other with our passion: writing.

I love that idea, and I think that dead RP’s and chats should be deleted when they’re dead for at least a month, so andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) has to deal with less clutter. I mean a finished RP should stay there if it was liked and to look back on. I at least think that there should be a report feature, for people who disobey the rules of the forum aka disrespect the creator of said chat or whatever or be able to block a user. I mean blocking a user wouldn’t help, but I don’t know..

I was gonna suggest that! Making a new thing is too much work for andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) when we're the problem. You're right Connie, the other areas of the site are kinda unused and just meh. We need to fix that!
And we need to set an example for newbies, they're the ones who determine the future. This should be more about writing and fandoms, and passion, like it was!
