It would if trolls kept spamming a particular chat (It could be done in optional stages - Kick, Temp. ban, Perma. ban but this might be too complicated as well)

I'm creating some new discussions in the worldbuilding forums so hopefully there'll be more activity

(Edit: Don't forget to use the Tutorial and Topic Q&A boards. I posted a guide on resources for naming your characters on the former but you still see lots of threads asking for names, for instance)

I think one of the problems are that some of the younger users see criticism, helping and well not being able to join RPs and an insult. I’ve seen a lot of salty people after one fix up after they said it was fine with them…

Then we have to make sure we're being as passive as we can. We have to tell them that help will get them far, use yourself, your story as an example. Help from older ogs helped me to where i am now.

I disagree about restarting everything/purging the chats because there are plenty that are relevant/important, and it's not fair to take those away, but I agree that we should fix ourselves up.

Agree, there's been lots of good discussion as well as bad. If worst comes to worst, maybe andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) could create a view only board and put all of the general chat in there?

No, I don't think that'd be the right approach. That's far more work on andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) when the problem is us. We need to use the other forums, become role models for younger users. We need to help each other with our passion: writing.

I was gonna suggest that! Making a new thing is too much work for andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) when we're the problem. You're right Connie, the other areas of the site are kinda unused and just meh. We need to fix that!
And we need to set an example for newbies, they're the ones who determine the future. This should be more about writing and fandoms, and passion, like it was!

It should also be required that everyone has at least 1 character made. I know if I see a new username and there's no characters/universes/locations attached, I get suspicious.

My older work, Emi helped me become the RPer you see today, sure I’m still not that skillful, but I can say fully that most of the young users are pretty chill for the most part.

When I first got to this site, everyone was polite and accepting. Now it's kinda honestly quite rough to be new!

My older work, Emi helped me become the RPer you see today, sure I’m still not that skillful, but I can say fully that most of the young users are pretty chill for the most part.

And on this thing I read of something random i don’t really rmemeber it stated this Love Consent rule for RPs and I though we might use it.
It’s basically everyone in the RP must agree on things, like deaths of characters and stuff like that, it would be helpful.

Personally, I think the Roleplay Chats should not be reset.

I have a lot of RPs on there that I truly enjoy reading over, and just contributing to, and to see all of that gone would be wholly disappointing. Plus, it won't stop the influx of bad RPers, so there is no point.

However, I do agree with restarting the General Chats and getting a Report feature. It would help.

Oh, that's a really good idea!
I know andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) has basic rules pinned in each forum, but I don't think that was included.
I'm not really an RPer myself, but that's just like a common sense rule.

There are some users that use the general chats to help with writing, I don't think restarting them all would be wise. However, deleting useless ones, yes, that'd be more appropriate.

If people actually started threads in the right category then this wouldn't be a problem. Like there's a lot of discussions here in general about fandoms, but we have entire categories for books, movies, tv shows, video games, and hobbies. That's where that kind of thread should go. And all the character chats in the the character forums are roleplays, and that's where they should be going. It is kind of frustrating, as someone who isn't really into RP, to see that there's been activity in the character forums, only to find that it's yet another character chat.

When you log onto the website the General Chat is the first board you see while the hobbies are all the way down at the bottom of the page. I wonder how it would affect this website if the order was reversed so you had to scroll to General Chat? Then more people might notice the lesser used boards.

I've started discussions in 'Jobs', 'Languages', and 'Races' so far btw.

Yeah! There are lots of character chats in the Character forums, I tried to branch out but I feel deterred because of them.

Yeah same. Most character activity is either Character Chats, 'Draw My Character', or my 'Characters as Tumblr Posts' chat lmao

Making a separate board might make the main page seem cluttered. Maybe it could be a sub board (So you have to click the 'Character' board then 'Character Chat', along those lines)
