I’m afraid my human is in need of an update. She wrote some strange human thing called a “poem” and then cried, because the maternal unit said something mean. Also, she seems to have some kind of bug called “cramps” any of you know what’s happening to her?

I do not think you can upgrade humans, but I do know what these "cramps" are. They are pretty common thing with female humans, and while they can still happen to anyone, they mostly occur in females. I cannot say about the "poem" situation, though, so I apologize.
