Every element is a mix of Light and Dark magic, no matter how complex they are. I will refer to the mixture of elements as breeding.
Light and Dark are considered Tier One powers, or Tier Alpha. They're the second rarest powers.
Tier two powers are Fire, Sky, and Earth. Breeding these powers together creates tier three powers, which consists of 54 powers, examples being:

1/54 Light + Water = Rain
2/54 Light + Lightning = Flashes
3/54 Light + Air = Wind
4/54 Light + Temperature = Heat
5/54 Light + Shadows = Mist
6/54 Light + Destructive light = Blinding Explosions
7/54 Light + Ashes = Smog
8/54 Light + Plantlife = Photosynthesis (healing)
9/54 Light + Stone = Gemstones, minerals
10/54 Dark + Water = Abyss
11/54 Dark + Lightning = Black flashes
12/54 Dark + Air = Storm
13/54 Dark + Temperature = Ice

This pattern goes on forever, making more than 10,000 possible powers.

But, if one person has every elemental power running through their veins, the person is classified as a Godtier. People like these are extraordinarily rare.

So basically, human characters can't use the elements at all unless they use magic, which involves mastering your own soul, and using it to manipulate the outer world. But it basically just gives you the power is over the classical elements, to heal people, to deal with spirits, and sometimes to enhance your own abilities.

Elementals are more interesting case, they have a far greater control over the natural world than any magical human, as well as some psychic powers, and they are composed of the element, and that's much harder to kill the most people, and take on its physical characteristics as well. They however also have the ability to possess humans, and you can use this to sire the Worldbrood. Otherwise known as half-Elementals. It should also be noted that Elementals must stay tied to their Elemental plane, or they're on element within our plane.

Now, onto half-Elementals. They have a power even greater than that of Elementals, as far as controlling the elements. They don't have the psychic, or and Mortal powers of Elementals, but they have bodies that allow them to interact with the Earth better, greater sentience, and they don't have to stay tied to their elements. They can also enter a state jokingly labeled by one of them as "Godmode" where their powers reach their maximum. Throughout the story there are several types of Elementals.

The first type of element, is fire, which obviously allows the ability of pyrokinesis, the ability to create, control, manipulate, and destroy fire as well as to be heavily resistant to it. They use this power in creative ways that I can't exactly spoil.

The second element is water, which allows users to create, control, destroy, and manipulate the states of water. They also have aquatic adaptations that allow them to stay under it for longer.

The third element is earth, which allows users to manipulate and control earthen materials, some metals, and it also a lot of them the ability to take more punishment than humans can, and recover better.

The air element, allows users, to control, and manipulate are and some Vapors. It also allows them to fly and they also have aerial adaptations.

The element of Darkness, allows Powers associated with vampires, and Shadow. Things like walking on walls, some psychic powers, shape-shifting, and umbrakinesis.

The light element allows others to heal people, create force fields, photokinesis, and very very mild reality warping.

And is overpowered as the last two scene, the light and dark are actually very balanced against the others, who can use their elements and creative ways.

So to explain magic I have to explain souls, because they’re connected. Souls are basically souls from undertale but can be restored if the soul isn’t shattered. Instead of your soul fighting and junk (I was a huge fan of undertale when I made my magic system and I didn’t want to change it) and it’s basically everything you are. DNA makes the looks, but the soul is actually what makes the personality, sexuality, blah blah blah in my universe. Souls when shattered go to the shadow realm but that’s a rabbit hole I’m not diving into. Souls have a power level, yes like dragon ball, even though I don’t like that anime I liked how it handled power levels at the time. Here’s a basic run down of the levels from most powerful to least powerful:
-God (Gods only, obviously.)
-Godly (Demi-God’s only)
-Very Strong (Level to acquire a special Double Element technique, but technique’s can only be used at certain times, not excessively, if they try they will loose their magic and maybe die if they’re a piece of shit I mean unlucky.)
-Strong (Nothing really special, can just use more of the double magic then Average)
-Average (Can obtain Double Magic)
-Weak (Only one element.)
-Very Weak (Still one element, but it’s hardly used because of well it will kill the user)
-How are you a character? (You can’t use anything. You are just normal.)

Alright that’s basically all you need to know.

Single elements:

Aqua: it’s just a water element but the name was an inside joke with Emi, don’t ask. Aqua is more of water manipulation, Aqua in order to be used has to be near water, or just throw a water bottle and you’ll be good.
Magma: Fire but it’s slower and bigger, like actual Magma.
Thunder: PIKACHU USE THUNDERBOLT PIKACHUUUUUUUUUUU! It’s just the lightning element but it’s faster used….
Planetoids: healing/ vine magic. Vines can be manipulated by this, and many can be healed!
(I’ll continue later LOL)
