So are you saying gender is based on feelings?

No. It’s the way your brain is wired. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness just like Autism Spectrum Disorder is. People don’t choose to be autistic yet they are, same with transgender.

@Shuri-the-Floof-Doggo

Well… Studies show that the LGBTQ+ demographic has a disproportionate amount of left-handed and ambidextrous people in it, and while it might be a fluke, the left-handed and ambidextrous population has gone through an explosion, increasing in size drastically with the LGBTQ+ population, which means that we may have tracked the source of the LGBTQ+ condition (I use that for lsck of a better word, sorry if that offends anyone) can be tracked to chemical differences within certain parts of the brain… It's not an exact theory, and there are lots of holes in it, but it's the closest thing we've got to truly identifying the scope of the LGBTQ+ condition. (Again, sorry. Condition is a word with no positive or negative connotations.)

@Shuri-the-Floof-Doggo

Well… Anyone else left handed?

I have a friend who lives a block away from me, and he's left-handed.

Is he part of the LGBTQ+ community?

Interesting.

I have gender dysphoria and I think this is pretty accurate for understanding

Sounds like a fluke science project theory, to be honest. I know neural pathways are linked in ways we still don't understand, but I seriously doubt there's an actual correlation between the two. Could be that around the same time LGBTQ+ rights were being fought for, left-handed people were also fighting against southern superstition. Leftys used to have special chairs that would shackle their left hand and teachers would force them to use their right hands to do work in school.

I'm literally the only ambidextrous person I know and am part of the community. And to add, I'm only ambidextrous because I sprained my wrist and had to use my other hand to complete work. Beforehand, I was a righty who knew they were most certainly gay.

Male and female brains are “wired” differently and your brain can be male or female. Some people are born female and have male brains.

Nope. He's the straightest cisgender guy I've met. I nearly fought him last year because he was part of a group talking shit about me, my ex, and their partner. Saying "trash meets trash meets trash" and yeah I almost fought two people that day.

Exactly! Thank you, Darren.

But the all things that determine if you are male or female are the same. Your brain and the rest of you are built on the same code.

Strange… That's what I mean… There are holes in it… But I don't think it's accurate either, to be honest, I was just stating information that might be helpful…

Huh. I'm right handed and not straight, but that's really interesting.

I'm… okay. I wish I could cover up the mirror in my bathroom though. Today is just one of those days where I look down and around and all I feel is disappointment.

How about you, Shuri-kun?

They/them for today, but it's okay if you use he/him too.

And why are you waiting for something bad to happen? Should I be concerned?

@Shuri-the-Floof-Doggo

I'll PM you about it, Red… But not now… I'm helping people!

Autism isn't a mental illness.
