I can't burn incense either. Basically, I'm living in a really old college dorm that has a strict fire code and very sensitive smoke detectors. In fact, we've been told that something as simple as steam from hot showers could potentially set them off. And they don't just say it to deter us. The fire alarms go off a lot more than they're supposed to because of stuff like that. On the one hand, I'm sure a little tea light wouldn't do anything, but I'm not sure I want to take that chance. I can use candles and incense when I'm at home, though.

@Elder-God-Whisper

I have the same issue, but because I have birds in my house and anything in the air could potentially kill them. Oil diffusers, candles, incense, anything like that.

Actually Bec_to_the_future, you could probably consider using an essential oil diffuser if your goal is more for scent.

I can use that, and I've already been using a diffuser for a while now, so that'll have to do while I'm at school.

no problem aha, stupid parents. apparently wiccan is for the insane and so i'm not allowed to practice it in my household.

@The-Magician group

To be fair, we are all pretty insane no? just me??
I understand where they are coming from.. Is there anywhere else you can practice them? Like a the house of a friend or another relative?

not just you!
and i’ve tried, but all my friends are christian so…

@Elder-God-Whisper

I got a lecture where witchcraft/wicca leads people to the devil. laughs hysterically

Oh mood.
I went to a christain camp over the summer and I had a few things from my altar that kept me feeling safe and some of my tarot.
I was given that lecture too.

@Elder-God-Whisper

It was so hard not to laugh in their faces, like, it's so wrong, and they're ranting about something they obviously have no clue about.

I k n o w
Like, Miss, you're my counseler, not my mom. I'm not hurting anyone, I'm simply shuffuling a deck of cards and having on a crystal necklace

@Elder-God-Whisper

I'm practicing a relion which is literally, do no harm to others and be nice. Oh, and maybe use things to achieve your goals or have a garden. that's my path of witchcraft anyway

Oof, mine is just like, don't fuck up, try not to fuck up, try and have a connection to gods to have a bennifical relationship, don't fuck up, and don't fuck up.

@Elder-God-Whisper

I've already come to terms that I'm going to fuck up some times, so I jut try and improve myself as my parents scream that I'm going down a dark road in the background.

Yeah, I'm not even sure what my path is called.
All I know is that fucking up with deities and fae can lead to a whole lot of other problems.

@Elder-God-Whisper

I'm a kitchen/hedge witch. (well, wannabe) And I believe in fae and spirits, but I believe in a version of the Christian god. My belief is that he isn't a harsh ruler that Christians say he is and that you need to confess your sins to a dude behind a screen to be forgiven.

Yeah, I really just belive that there are a shit ton of gods. There are greek, roman, christian, etc. If someone belives in a god, then the god is alive from their belief.

@Elder-God-Whisper

^^^ ME. Holy shit, I thought I was the only one.

@The-Magician group

I think we have already established that by being part of this community, you are not the only one in anything.

@Elder-God-Whisper

I just believe that you give your devotion to one particular god, and the others will leave you alone if you don't really are devoted to them and their…. culture for want of a better word.

@Elder-God-Whisper

Yes, well, I'm still not used to that.

Being a more secular witch is totally a thing though, right? I believe there's something, but I don't feel comfortable worshiping or praying to anything when I don't know what it is. What really sits well with me about witchcraft is the idea of putting good intent out into the world and yielding positive results by being kind and wishing well on others and yourself. Basically the idea of banishing negative energy and inviting in/creating positive energy.
Still a complete beginner of course, but that's the appeal to me.

Yeah dude!
I just like to think there's someone out there who will help me if I ask :)

group
@Becfromthedead group

Huh, that's actually a really cool way to look at it.

Yup.
It's easier for me to ask someone up higher than my family, because those who are higher, know my struggles more than my family could and therefore are able to offer more help.

@Elder-God-Whisper

^^^^ This is exactly how I feel.

FUNFACT: Tonight is the last full moon of 10 years(forget what it's called)  so starting at noon expect forgiveness, acception, good luck and good news. open doors, and open minds, open hands. Expect a new beginning of some sort. Numbers to watch out for are 333, 10, and I can't remember the other one. But ye. Also a FANTASTIC night to charge moon water.
