Well I mean one of his sacred animals is a dog so maybe that has something to do with it??

She also tried to stick her head in Persephone's while it was lit so I think it might just be her

@ElderGod-Icefire

So for the past few months, I've kinda fallen off the bandwagon in terms of keeping up with my craft, but then last night I just felt this like…pressure/need to do a protection candle, so I did? Also threw in some crystals for calm and dealing with anger and stuff, and I think it worked? Idk today's been a good day, and when I have time later I'm gonna do more research

@ElderGod-Icefire

my fucking candle cAUGHT THE CANDLESTICK ON FIRE, WHAT THE FUCK–

Okay so I forgot to take my meds for a while and the past couple days I haven't been able to eat without getting super nauseous, but I just ate a donut and was totally fine
And then I drew the tower. Maybe it's unrelated?? I hope so

New years is fun because normally my family is like "witchcraft is evil" and then at lunch on January 1st everyone is like "here's a ritual for a prosperity spell" and it involves candles and herbs, like babe I hate to break it to you babe but it's not "less evil" if you only do it one day a year

@ElderGod-Icefire

That's actually really funny to me tho

@Pickles group

It's hilarious

@berlioz

Hope you all had a great winter solstice! I went to a Christian Christmas eve vigil and devoted my candle to Aengus Mac Og instead of Jesus hehe.

@Pickles group

We went to one and I got through it by pretending it was paganism

My favorite game is losing something important and promising offerings every day for a month to whatever entity helps me find it while I have a panic attack
anyways I now owe someone water in the cactus margarita glass until February and a piece of cake as often as I can get it

I’d like to share a small word about the difference between Deity Work and Deity Worship, I think some of you may find it interesting/helpful.

Deity Work is the act of heavily involving a deity in your craft/path and using their energy or general presence in your spell work and ritual work. They help you with your craft and give you advice on your path and help to protect you from any negative entities, they normally come through with a lesson to learn. They will also help guide you through things like shadow work and astral travel, helping you practice your skills and slowly grow stronger with your magick! Normally they do not stay around for ever and you will find them leaving over time; thats fine, they do this.

Deity Worship is having an altar for a deity, giving them offerings, or praying to them. The deity does not often respond or do anything for you in return, and you are simply acknowledging and respecting their presence as a divine. You should not worship a deity expecting them to acknowledge you. With deity work, the deity is involved normally quite a lot whereas with worship, there is no certified guarantee the deity will ever acknowledge or "thank you”. Sometimes you feel their presence, but they may never get involved. Sometimes deity worship may evolve into deity work, but don’t expect it to just happen. When working with or worshipping deities a sense of entitlement to them will usually not be advised

@Pickles group

i feel like that's directed at me and if it is I promise I know

@The-Magician group

Oh no no, it’s just something I thought would be helpful to those who wish to start working with deities, I’m sorry if it came across as targeted! /gen

@Pickles group

oh thank god

@ElderGod-Icefire

Thanks, Lee! I've been curious about Deity stuff, but I don't feel advanced enough for it right now. But thanks for the meanings/difference

Me, sad:
The cards: you dumbass you're sad because your schedule got interrupted two days in a row

anyways the last time I did spell work Ares yeeted my tealight onto the carpet so I guess I'm not ready to work with him

lmaooo. i asked my dad if he'd get me a lighter for my incense and candles and stuff and he was like "there's matches in the kitchen." i didn't wanna use matches but it was easiest atm, but lemme tell you, it's so much more satisfying. lighters are easier but i love the feeling of striking it and knowing the fire i have was started by me. i mean, i guess.. they're always started by me, but more- hands on? idkkk i just like it. it's little things like that that i find important in my rituals, the feeling of rawness. using matches gives me that. is that weird ?

@Pickles group

That makes a surprising amount of sense actually

Hello everyone!
First of all, being the clumsy idiot I am, accidentally stepped on my ouija board and snapped it in half. It was one I hand-made and I don't believe I ever used it. However one of my friends joked about it being bad and I was wondering if that holds any truth?
Secondly, I'm going into heart surgery and just wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for any protection or luck charms/spells/etc (alongside my actual medical precautions)

Crystals work wonders for me (just in general). I don’t have my book with me at the moment to tell you what particular crystals would be best, but it should be fairly easy to research.

But, you can wear them as a necklace/bracelet/etc, or keep a little jar in your purse (I still do this), and this way you always have them with you.

@ElderGod-Icefire

I keep seeing "111" everywhere…I think/hope it's a good thing

111, from my understanding, is a symbol of new beginnings, either the need for it or that you’re on the right path to it. There’s a bit more to it, but that’s the gist.

1111 (a number I keep seeing) is similar, I think.

(It’s honestly been a minute since I researched number symbolisms, so I may be off a bit)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Yeah that's what my research said about it

Also one of my oldest friends just called me out of the blue for the first time in over a year, so?? It could be related?? Either way it's awesome

@berlioz

Blessed Imbolg everybody!

Imbolg is an Irish celebration of the dawning of spring and the dawn Goddess herself, Brigid, the bringer of fire and life. It's celebrated in the Catholic church as St. Brigid's Day.
An easy traditional Irish ritual is to wash your head, hands, and feet outside of your house (or bedroom) to wash off the last quarter of winter (Samhain) before entering into your house and this new quarter of Imbolg.

Beannachtaí na Imbolg dhaoibh!

@berlioz
