I mean on the one hand, I want to be an independent woman and do what I want and not be tied down by anyone, and on the other I want a nice SO and shopping trips and movies and cuddles and hand holding. As for me, what I always think of with the whole "Love=Sex" mentality people seem to have is that my personal belief is that love is baring your soul and heart to another person, not your body.

That's so wild to me. Do… do people actually get flirted with/hit on in real life? I've been catcalled by strangers, but no one at school ever really pursued me. Thank god, but like… why some people but not others? I've had a few male friends, but none of them have ever tried that mess with me. (Side note, not important: I've always kind of wondered if it's because my facial features and some other aspects of my appearance are less "feminine." I had quite a few people mistake me for a boy when I had slightly shorter hair, and it was mildly frustrating and something I was insecure about for a long time.)

Ah, true. I'm not sure how old you are, but high school/college kids seem to be really desperate to get into dating people.
Personally, I wasn't asked out until late 16 and didn't have my first kiss until 17, so if you're interested in romance at all, you might not have a relationship until later high school. Or college, even. Or perhaps after that. But it's perfectly cool to not rush it. Romance isn't the most important thing in life, that's for sure. We definitely don't need it to survive.

One of my friends from Youth Group put it very well. She said a friend of hers was asked out by a guy she didn't like, and accepted anyway to get the 'nice' things in a relationship, like presents and such. My friend was confused and she was like "you're basically using him?? and manipulating him into giving you things even though you don't like him??" and the girl was like "but it's fun". THERE IS NOTHING 'FUN' ABOUT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF A PERSON WHO YOU DON'T LIKE BUT WHO LIKES YOU. NOTHING. It's immoral and rude, not to mention demolishing to self-esteem.

But if you're not interested, they should understand and respect that. By accepting the offer of someone you don't want to be with, you cause both of you undue drama in the future because the relationship wouldn't last. Trust me. It's better to just turn them down, and you shouldn't feel bad because of it.

Listen, when I was like 3 or 4 years old, I would watch Sound of Music all of the time, and I knew most of the songs word for word. Sound of Music is welcome here. Lol

Oh we did Caro Mio Ben one time for some sort of chorus audition. It's so pretty. I learned the piano accompaniment too because I found it in one of my mom's old books.

It's really fun! I love the Italian words in it!!

Yessss. I also really love the arias Sebben Crudele and Come Raggio di Sol, if you're familiar with those two. I got on an Italian opera kick for a brief time and learned those and their accompaniments (disclaimer: I'm much better at piano than I am at singing.)

Okay my current fave song is a tie between "A Rumor In St. Petersburg" from Anastasia and both "Ilona" and "Three Letters" from She Loves Me.

If you find the right SO you can have both. They should be your partner and someone you enjoy being around, you shouldn't feel like its a chore or they're tying you down.
