When I came out to my friends, 2 thought I was joking, and the other seemed okay with it but a couple weeks later she started distancing herself and it was just awful. :/

That's so stupid though. It's like… why the heck do others care if you're in a relationship/want a relationship or not?! I've never understood that. That's society conditioning you to think that. I mean, heck, we see sex appeal used to sell goods and services, literally including food. Of course you now think it's wrong/weird to not want to do it. And with the emphasis that people put on relationships, everyone feel romantic attraction until proven aro, and even then, some people can't get it through their thick skulls.
