Okay so I have this piece of music

It’d be fine

If it weren’t

For

The

Goddamn

High

Notes

I tried playing them but they’re loud and obnoxious

THANKFULLY the music loudness is FF.

or I’d be fuckkkkkkekkekdkdkdkdkdkdkdkeekkd

Here’s the music:

How would I play that in rhythm?

Bump

@yeetus

Oof
My band teacher once told us that a quaver rest if enough time for you to sniff so if that helps

@Wry_Wyvern

That’s an 8th rest, so you’d wait half a beat and then play the 2 sixteenths in the second half. With the counting system I was taught, it would be read: (one)-and-a two-and three four, although that may be incoherent or confusing to you idk. It might help to think of the sixteenths as pickups to beat 2. If you need help subdividing, I’d highly recommend practicing with a metronome.

Thanks Wry. I figured it out. I found a professional recording of it and listened to it.

Also, aren’t those high notes absolutely ridiculous? From where it comes from, it doesn’t make any sense! Like, I play a normal Eb, then it goes to that after a rest???

Sorry I’m really mad at that piece. The transitions in the entire thing are just bad

I don't understand your clef. T poses I'll see myself out.

@Yamatsu

I get to understand both clefs! I am the most powerful musician! And I'm great with my hands!
If you know what I mean…

@yeetus

Nice

@Wry_Wyvern

Well if we’re complaining about how music is written:
French horns are not saxophones
FRENCH HORNS ARE NOT SAXOPHONES
FRENCH
HORNS
ARE
NOT
SAXOPHONES
(AND WE ARE NOT LOW BRASS EITHER)
thank you for coming to my ted talk

Also Emi I’m glad you figured it out.

feels Wry’s anger

FRENCH HORNS ARE NOT SAXOPHONES

(Also i’ve always wanted to switch to FH just to switch but the change would trigger the hecc out of my flute playing skills.)

Oof I can't play that high on my alto sax ..
What do you play?

I play the flute

So the notes are so high that I can kill a small animal with it.

Oh no XD

At lEAST it’s a FF

And the rest of the band is blasting us out of the water

So I really don’t have to play it?

@yeetus

Very true
I play the flute and piano

rEeeee reEEEEESEEEEER
E
I agree

@yeetus

Thank you

@RedTheLoveless

I play clarinet and oh my god Emi I can feel your pain
Except with high notes, Clarinets are more likely to squeak
And when they squeak, they sound like a dying cat getting swallowed by a goose

And you can hear that iconic mouse-killing squeak over the ENTIRE FREAKING BAND

I had a lot of young'uns I was mentoring on the clarinet and oH My GOD

@yeetus

Oof
The flute high notes don't squeak when you play it badly
It either makes a sound that makes your eardrums wanna die or blows raspberry
