Having to stand for the pledge.
(Also say I if you agree America is a cult in disguise)
idk i think every country is a cult in their own way

Listen as a non-American I can tell you that this whole "making kids stand up to recite a pledge of allegiance to their flag" is intensely creepy to me??
like… why should four-year-olds be pledging allegiance to anything??
America is a dystopia and we don't even see it.
So I live in a pretty shady area, so guns aren't uncommon. My favorite game to play with my friends is "gun, shitty car, or firework?" and we guess which kind of "boom" it was. And on the fourth of July? Oh boy :)
It’s kinda weird that school systems push this idea that America is soo much better than everywhere else, and anywhere that isn’t europe, Australia, or the US is a horrible 3rd world country with death and plague everywhere.
Oh yeah I forgot Canada lol
I’d like to visit Canada just because
also literally every chat like this gets off topic at some point so we’re just starting early
I've been to Canada. It was a lot calmer over there. They also have incredible donuts
Oh hey! Just heard another gunshot-

Yeah especially when it's March and you start hearing it.
I’m in Canada but especially through the days 1-5 July I hear a lot of fireworks (at least I hope they’re fireworks). Mostly because there’s a lot of Canadian-Americans living in my town or we’re so close to the border.
I did go to America a few times and I visited Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and some of Michigan for a trip once and a lot of the people there were pretty chill and even the border guards for Vermont were nicer than the ones that I usually see in Michigan so I’m not sure if there’s a different from state to state in terms of border guards? Not throwing shade on my fellas from Michigan, just noticing those subtle differences…
I also find standing for the pledge a bit weird as well as reciting it. For most of my schools (and by most, I mean all of the ones I’ve been to because I’ve only had two schools) we just need to stand. You don’t really need to sing, just stand, and be silent for a minute or so.

Yeah. People from Vermont are quite chill.

Uhhh apparently outside of Wisconsin people call bubblers 'water fountains'???
Not gonna judge but ????? why??? Water fountains are outside and have cherubs and stuff?? Not indoors??
And in Minnesota people play 'Duck Duck Gray Duck' for some godforsaken reason. No. It's a goose. Calling it a grey duck will anger it and it will attack you. Personally I'm fond of the phrase 'Satan's Ducks' for them
