Dream world- thoughts?

Hi guys, I am currently writing a fan fic for the Dragon Age world of Thedas, and I am working on a scene taking place within the Fade. For those unfamiliar, the Fade is a dream world where humans go in spirit when they sleep. Also, mages can travel physically through powerful magic. Demons and spirits reside in this world, some hoping to possess an unsuspecting mage and gain a foothold into the human world. I wanted to make a good image for the idea of it being a "dream world" and wanted to get some outside opinions.

"Amafrey opened her eyes slowly. Looking around, she could see that she stood in the center of an open field. The grass blew gently in the wind.
The wind? She didn't feel a breeze at all.
Looking closer, it appeared as if each blade of grass were made of smoke, softly rising from the ground and evaporating quickly. She inspected the rest of her surrounds. The field she stood in extended several yards in each direction before simply fading out of existence. The sky was a pale lavender with no clouds; instead, random objects floated weightlessly through.
This was the Fade. Amafrey was sure of it. It was so beautiful… yet terrifying at the same time.
She began to walk forward. The ground before her shimmered, threatening to disappear beneath her and let her fall into nothingness, but each step held. Ahead, the path began to materialize before her eyes as she advanced."

Wow! I really like this idea of nonpermanence. What shape are you thinking that the demons will take? They could be like sirens, taking the form of what the person desires most?

Well, if I follow how the Dragon Age games are, they have several types of spirits and demons. The game has their own basic looks and descriptions of them that change slightly between games, but they keep a base sense.
Desire: closest to the siren idea, desire demons are represented as a woman wearing only enough clothing to cover the sensitive parts, some necklaces and bracelets, pale purple skin, complete with horns and a purple flame for hair.
Pride: The largest of the demons, they have a very rocky like body with many spikes and uneven edges to their limbs, they have several sets of eyes, and multiple sets of horns standing straight up.
Rage: Shown as basically living lava, with two simple pinpricks for eyes, they use only fire based attacks, and are extremely unintelligent.
Sloth: Tall, lanky, and hunched over, these demons wear a hood and have no face with only a light for emanating from where it should be. With the exception of one who takes on the shape of a bearskarn (Basically a bear with fur that resembles a porcupine, but skin that seems almost undead).
There's a few others throughout and even a few spirts like valor or justice that often show as translucent white knights with echoing voices.

Or I could think of other ways to describe them, just to make things interesting, even as a fanfic.
