"Have you talked to either of them?" Collins asked surprised at her suddenness to talk to him. He hadn't expected her to so quickly, everyone always brushed him off.

" there not in town I don't know what to do I'm scared Collins I can't talk to Brad…for reasons" she said

group

"Like what kind? And what about your other guy friend, Gavin wasn't it?" He asked, not sure what to do with this situation. He was never good with talking to girls. Especially this girl, she was different.

" Look haven't told anyone but you Collins and I just really need someone anyone right now" she said with a sniffle

group

"Hey, come here." He said holding his arms out for her. "I'm sorry, I just am not good with emotional support."

Caroline collapsed in his arms sobbing into his shoulder shaking uncontrollably

( Make Brad see them and confront them?)

group

((I thought he was at class though? But I mean I guess he could see them, maybe, and just kinda cringe and walk away from his attempt apology to Caroline?))

"Shhh, hey, it's OK Caroline." He said softly, his tone soft and calming. He rubbed circles on her back, trying to calm her down. "I know you're upset, but none of this is your fault, it can't be."

( how about he sees them at lunch)
" Maybe it is I'm a horrible daughter and clearly a horrible friend" she said

group

(Yeah that could work,)

"Hey, no you aren't. You're stressed, it's normal, but don't say things like that." He whispered nuzzling his nose into her hair.

She sighed but nodded " I'm sorry I don't mean to be such a burden" she said.

group

"No! You- you're not a burden!" He said quickly looking at her.

She was about to argue when the bell rang" I'm late" she said

group

"Late? Late for what?" He asked, still a little frazzled. Her suddenness wasn't helping his case either.

"class the bell just rang" she said.

Mrs Evans had started class but Caroline was no where to be seen.

group

Collins nodded, hugging her one last time. "Sit with me at lunch?" He asked her softly, his eyes gleaming with hope.

Brad bit his lip nervously, tapping his foot. 'Where is she!?'

Caroline smiled genuinely " Alright" she agreed and with that she told him goodbye and made her way to class she silently opened the door

"Nice of you to join us Mrs woods" Mrs Evans said and Caroline sat down

Brad wanted to say something snarky to the teacher, but he was already in enough trouble as is. After pummeling Felix, he was in deep trouble. He didn't want any more. He quickly wrote a note, tossing it over to Caroline. 'Where were you?'

She looked at the note rolling her eyes she wrote in the back' with a friend why do you care?' she wrote before handing I back to him

group

He frowned, and started to write something down. Though he got the evil eye from their teacher. So he stopped, setting the pen and paper aside. He'd have to answer her after class.

Class seemed to.fly by to Caroline because before she knew it the bell was ringing and Caroline was leaving the room.

group

"Caroline wait!" He called quickly packing his bag, trying to follow her. He was attempting to zip his backpack up and run out after her.

Caroline sighed turning around to face him " what is it Brad?" She asked

group

"Mrs. Evans was giving me a stare down. I wanted to tell you why I cared." He said quietly, as if not to be overheard.

She closed her eyes walking over to him " well"? She asked

group

"I'm worried about you, I care about you, I want to be there for you. And I'm sorry I left you earlier." He whispered holding her face in his hand.

She sighed " but your reputation comes first?" She asked

group

"No- the fact that I may be expelled and won't be here comes first. I won't be able to help you." He said softly.

" then maybe you should stop helping me" she pointed out not.meeting his eyes.

group

Brad was getting tired of her attitude. It was overly frustrating him, because she wouldn't tell him what was going on. He was just done with it, but he wasn't going to leave. "I don't want to, but you aren't giving me much of a choice."
