This is spreading everywhere and I'm not sure if I should be bothered that I can't escape it or not

Regardless of its lore in the chicken chat I did say I was gonna use skittles as a nickname shrug

That's true, but 'skittle man' now evokes… particular imagery XD

I LOVE stupidly specific medieval magic systems, but they suck to make actually work.
Like, how do you make a wizard who can only cast spells on blue moons on Tuesdays at 8pm if the sun is still out and the planets align work.

Take it as a compliment! There's not many "(related word) + Man" nicknames out there that I can think of.
Off the top of my head, there's Hampter Man (me) and Shadow Man (Vis).

oh that sounds very painstaking. my worlds have no specific magic system, some ppl do one kind of magic, some ppl do another, most can't do much. the thing I gotta put more into is the Winged People.

I've been thinking of having my "magic system" more genetic-based since it's more of a "regular non-magic dweeb x cool magic dork" crossbreed thing. Of course, that brings up the issue of explaining in a way that doesn't sound like a Biology lesson.

I've been into cat genetics lately, and it's 1000% bleeding into my other interests- agh.

I used to make such intricate systems but now I'm like anyone can get cursed for literally anything, that's a sea monster yes it will curse you (or it might not who knows), oh shit the moon is red no one look at it, etc etc… barely anyone uses magic, it's more avoided than used for what I write lmao
I love reading about magic systems though. mmmm limitations ❤️❤️

Intentionally absurd magic systems are also fantastic
Like there could be a wizard and he can only cast one super powerful spell, and it's so scary that everyone is shaking and quaking in fear, and turns out the spell is just he can turn into a wheel of cheese
BUT IT WORKS because everyone just so happens to be lactose intolerant or something-

He (as a wheel of cheese) rolls at 170 mph and runs over his enemies, effectively flattening them like in those cat and mouse cartoons

Accidentally made this one character's life a bigger tragedy than Romeo and Juliet, feeling pretty good
