"Alright." He smiled. "It's fine, don't worry about it. There's nothing wrong with keeping someone safe."

Tohru smiled.
"Yeah, I know. I just thought I should tell you before she tagged along with us, was all."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded, taking another sip of his drink. "Right. Of course. Thanks for telling me, Tohru."

"Of course."
He kept working, and by the time his shift was drawing to the close, the place was still bustling. The bar was filled with the drone of several conversations going on at once. It wasn't as loud as some nights, but still might be a little for someone not used to it.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin had sipped at his drink for a while, and when he finished it had gotten water. He was careful about the amount of alcohol he drank, only sipping and letting enough time pass that, while he definitely felt the effects of drinking the two drinks prior, the water helped.

"Hey, ready to go home?" Tohru asked, coming up to the counter behind Davin.
He had taken off his apron, let down his hair, and was already considerably more relaxed.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin looked up, and nodded, standing. "Yeah. We were walking…Kira home, yes? At least part of the way?" he offered up a quick smile.

"Yeah, she's walking over to the door now," Tohru said, gesturing behind Davin, "I don't know exactly where she lives. A few blocks down, though, so we'll take her most of the way."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin nodded. "Alright, makes sense. Let's go, then."

Tohru walked out the door after Kira, and he held it open for Davin behind him.
"Hey, Kira. Rest of the night go alright?"
She shrugged. "Yeah. It did. Nothing to report. Listen, I'm sorry about that-"
"It's not your fault. They're the worst."
"Hah. Maybe they are."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin was quiet, letting the two coworkers have their conversation. He didn't want to interupt them, especially when he didn't know Kira all that well.

Tohru looked over his shoulder at Davin, and he fell back so the three of them could walk side by side.
Kira didn't seem so keen on talking anymore.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin gave Tohru a faint smile, adjusting his hood.

The rest of the walk was pretty quiet and uneventful. Kira thanked Tohru and Davin for walking her, wished them a good night, and went on her way home. Tohru stopped and watched her go, then gazed back over to Davin. He was grateful Kira hadn't said anything to embarrass him or out him on the whole secretly crushing on his roommate thing, but then again, Tohru was sure she wasn't that kind of person. She had decency. Understood what a mess it could cause.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin smiled over at Tohru once Kira was gone. "She seems like a decent person." He said, adjusting his hood again.

Tohru nodded slightly.
"I think so too," he agreed, "Haven't known her for that long, so we haven't really gotten into backstory or any of that shit yet. But she's been pretty welcoming to me, and she's nice to customers when they aren't being the worst. Just trying to earn a living, I'm sure."
Tohru looked at the ground slightly, avoiding too much eye contact with Davin. He thought he might melt.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Aren't we all." he replied at Tohru's last statement, nodding a little bit. "I'm glad you seem to have decent coworkers, though."

"Yeah, but for me to be the tough one of the bunch…" Tohru laughed, "It's a little concerning. I don't have a problem with helping keep order, I just don't want anything bad to happen while I'm gone."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Well, you are a bounty hunter, Tohru, so there's a reason you're the tough one." He said.

@Becfromthedead group

Tohru shrugged a bit.
"I guess. But I don't really look the part. At least, I don't think I do," he laughed, "But maybe that's all the more horrifying, especially when you find it out the hard way."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He laughed. "Mhm, it is." He smiled a little bit, glancing down at the bandage still on his arm, from where Tohru had shot him.

"Oh… gods… right," Tohru murmured under his breath to where Davin might not be able to hear.
That was probably insensitive on his part. Though all things considered, Davin got off very easy.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin looked over at him with a faint smile, bumping his shoulder against the other man's. "Hey, it's fine."

Tohru nearly melted at the slight touch, but he managed to collect himself enough to answer.
"How is it today?" he asked softly, "I can help rebandage it if you need."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin shrugged. "I haven't checked it yet today. It doesn't usually hurt, unless I hit it against something by mistake."

group
@Becfromthedead group

"Well… I guess that's good," Tohru sighed, "Blaster wounds are usually pretty clean, but you never know. I've had one get infected before. But then again, I think you'd know if something was that wrong."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah. I think if it was infected, it would fester and hurt more." he replied, shrugging again.

@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah, it would," Tohru agreed.
He pulled out his key as they approached the apartment, turned the lock and let the other in.
He was itching to get out of his work clothes and immediately went back to the bedroom, throwing his shirt into the hamper. His eyes wandered to the mirror, and he realized he'd just bared his bruises from the previous (?) night without thinking. He glanced back over his shoulder to make sure Davin hadn't noticed.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin hadn't noticed, as he wasn't in the room yet. He had paused to hang up his cloak on a hook and slip his shoes off, undoing the tie that held his hair back.

Tohru went to grab the towel hanging over the closet door so he could take a shower. He slung the towel over his shoulder to cover it, though it was still slightly visible from there. Tohru started towards the bathroom, relieved that Davin saw nothing.
