Davin picked up his device and started to read, tail twitching faintly as he read. These past hours had been…strange and stressful. He didn't really know how to process it, exactly. It was so…it was just a lot. He had been so panicked about Tohru, so worried, and now…now it was normal again. Ish. Tohru was obviously still in pain, but he was going to be okay.

Tohru switched to the messaging application on his device. He didn't want to alarm Davin by calling out, and was still too weak to get up, so he messaged him from the other room.
Hey, when do you go back in to work?

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin blinked when he saw the message pop up, and had to think for a moment.
tomorrow. i called off for today
He didn't tell Tohru, but the reason he had called off was because of Tohru. Because he did not want to leave the other man alone for hours and hours. Not after what had just happened, certainly.

Even though Tohru had never explicitly been told so, he had his suspicions on why his roommate called out. He felt sick to his stomach at the thought of having the other effectively babysit him, forgoing wages for the day, and even worse, still having to face him after his mistake.
Ok, just wondering
Secretly, Tohru wished he would leave the house, get him something else for the pain, because whatever he's taken has done effectively nothing. Yet, he refused to ask for that help, and intended to suffer in silence.

let me know if you need anything

He got up from his seat in order to check the cupboards and fridge; did they have enough food? He thought they did, but he didn't want to run out. That would not end well for any of them.

Will do, thanks
Tohru messaged back once again. He suddenly felt a wave of nausea sweep over him as he laid there. Tohru sucked in a deep breath, but it hurt like hell. He did not want to start vomiting again, but he very well might. He leaned back into bed, set his device down, and closed his eyes, trying to focus on steadying his breath. He'd been shot before, in the arm, in the leg, even once in the other side before. Yet, this hurt so much worse. He felt so much worse, but he had no idea why. And the way it seemed to radiate out from the bullet wound scared him to death.

Davin frowned faintly as he poked through the cupboards. They were fine for now; he did not need to do any grocery shopping. Plus, he did not want to leave Tohru here alone. If he had to go out for some other reason, he owuld pick up groveries while he was out, but he was not going to go out just for groceries, not at this point in time. Not now, not with Tohru doing so badly. He would need to keep an eye on the other man's wound. It would do neither of them any good if it became infected, and if Tohru had to go into the hospital, Davin would be unable to visit until the other man was out. He could not afford to visit and have his biometrics taken or his features identified for what he was.
