Another for Brave Soldier

naize curled up and whines as she felt another soul leave

A short while later, another life flees the world. Another mark. Luna inhales deeply, glowing brighter than ever. Only a couple more. . .

5 deaths later, she's glowing bright as the sun. She has glowing, flowing antlers sprouting from her head, a panther's tail and eyes, and the lower legs of a goat, muscled but furred as thickly as a panther's pelt. She takes flight, racing back home joyfully.

"Naize! I'm back!" she calls.

naize was practically crying and shaking

Her form darkens quite a bit as she lands, back to its normal luminacity, the extra features flowing away.

"What's wrong?" she murmurs.

" you killed quite bit, just tryna cope "

Luna tilts her head.

"How do you ignore the other deaths of the humans? The others deaths of the plants, the wildlife? If you can sense this so acutely, why doesn't much else seem to affect you?" she murmurs.

"the closer it is, the harder to ignore." she muttered

Luna sighs and walks over to Naize, gathering the smaller girl up in her arms and holding her close.

"I'm sorry. . ." she whispers.

" its not your fault "

"It is, I should have known." Luna replies.

" no one knows anything like that about me, I'm just some kitty to them "

"You are not 'just some kitty'. You are Naize, the Greenseeker. And I should have asked." Luna says fiercly.

naize looked up to luna and sighed

"And I am Luna, the Moondancer. And as such, it would have been courteous to ask." Luna adds softly. She slowly reverts back to her form she'd had when she'd first entered the house that day, the glow still toned down, but all the physical features there once more. Now that she wouldn't literally blind you if you looked at her, there's black traceries of what looks like scrollwork tattooing her skin, her horns. Upon closer inspection it would be revealed to be Lunar script, the neat spikes, curves and dots reminiscient of Tolkein's Elvish.

naize chuckled, closing her eyes for a moment. soon, deer-like horns, bob cat ears and her bobbed tail appeared, her ethereal blank glowing green eyes had opened

Luna smiles.

"I know how you look, I was showing you how I look. I get by on moonlight and Death, while you get by on sunlight and Life. Opposites in every way, I suppose. . . green and gold, silver and black." she says.

“ I know, though now we match, even a little bit..”

Luna grins.

"That is true." she replies.

“Hey..” she asked softly

Luna pauses.

"What?" she says.

“ I love you”

Luna freezes completely, like an ice statue. Her mind tries to process the words Naize had just uttered but can't, not yet. The first word that comes to mind is. . .

"What-?"

Naize winced back a bit “ did I say something wrong?”

Luna finally unfreezes, managing to process what was said, and starts smiling, softly at first, then wider. She starts laughing as well.

"I- I'm sorry- give me a second-" she wheezes, doubling over with laughter.

Naize teared up, confused “ I-”

She hugs Naize tightly.

"I love you too." she replies, still laughing slightly.

Naize huffed “ why we're you laughing?”

"Because it was so completely unexpected, that's why." Luna chuckles.

“ I'm sorry, I wanted to say it”

Luna tilts her head, leaning back.

"Yeah, I could tell. You did say it." she smiles.
