(Sure)
Stella got up the following morning at 9:00. She yawned and sat up then got out of bed. She proceeded to grab her phone and head downstairs to eat some breakfast.
[Good morning.]
(Sure)
Stella got up the following morning at 9:00. She yawned and sat up then got out of bed. She proceeded to grab her phone and head downstairs to eat some breakfast.
[Good morning.]
Laura had hardly gotten any sleep, but she was used to it by now. Her phone buzzed on her nightstand, and originally she flinched away from it. Her eyes read the name Stella. She struggled to remember who Stella was. Wait, was it that hot girl from yesterday? She picked up the phone to unlock it and scrolled through their text history. Yes, it must be. I forgot I have to meet her today. Her room was even more a mess then it was last night, which clothes strewn about and the curtains hampering the majority of daylight. Nearly every part of her body hurt, and her fingers trembled a bit as she typed a brief response.
[Morning. How are you?]
Stella smiled as she fixed herself some toast and quickly texted Laura back,
[Good! How about you? Did you sleep well?]
[I didn't sleep that much. I wasn't that tired.]
She winced as she sent the message. Well… it's partially the truth.
Stella frowned
[Are you okay?]
[Yeah, I'm fine. Just wasn't tired.]
She bit her lip and listened to see if her father was still awake.
[Alright, if you’re sure. Ready for coffee later?].
Stella was still concerned but she thought nothing of it.
[Sure. Maybe we could do it a little earlier?]
She quietly moved around her room to put on shorts, a black tank top with spaghetti straps, the same filmy hoodie as yesterday, and Converse. She also made sure to grab her notebook.
[Yeah! Meet me at the park?]
Stella got dressed and headed outside
[Ok]
Laura slid her phone into her pocket and crept down the stairs. Her father was passed out on the couch, as she predicted. She opened the screen door and closed it quietly before running down their driveway and down the street. She'd have to run for a bit to get to the park from her house, but it wasn't anything she hadn't done before.
Stella sat on the bench where they had first met and waited
Laura slowed as she approached the park and wiped a thin layer of sweat off her forehead so it didn't look like she'd been exerting herself too much. She entered the park and saw Stella sitting where she had been yesterday. She smiled shyly and walked over. "Hi." There were heavy bags under her eyes and a faint bruise was visible on her upper leg that her shorts didn't cover.
Stella looked up with a smile then gasped and got up, “L-Laura! Are you okay?”
She looked confused for a second, then followed Stella's gaze to the bruise. "Shit," she mumbled to herself. "I'm fine, I, uh, just fell out of bed this morning."
Stella didn’t look convinced, “Are you sure?”
"Uh, yeah… it's fine," Laura repeated, trying to sound sure.
“Alright…let me know if you aren’t.” Stella but her lip, “Now let’s go have some coffee!”
"Okay," Laura agreed quietly, her trusty notebook clutched to her chest.
