Babe opened her mouth to say something else, and paused. He was right. And this time around, she couldn't blame it on a more violent hockey game.

A small smile crept onto his face, once he realized she knew he was right. He set the kit down, handing her some antibiotics.

She huffed, accepting the pill bottle as she plopped down on the ground. She pointedly avoided her brother's gaze boring into the side of her head as she downed a couple of the pills dry. "You guys really don' have t' worry."

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry coughed down a sarcastic laugh. "Someone has to worry, Babe. And you've clearly demonstrated that someone isn't going to be you."

"Yeah. 'cause I know I can handle myself." Babe said, shaking her head. A small dark spot was slowly growing on her shirt, right on her left side where she hit the ground. A rock was likely to blame.

@BrennaKadavsky

"Are you going to take care of that? Otherwise, either Rico or I can hold you down and do it for you." Henry said, gesturing towards the spot. He was leaning more and more towards restraining her so they could take care of her.

"I already took out three guys larger than me, I won' hesitate to add another t' that list." Babe warned, looking down at the blood. After a moment, she wrinkled her nose, sliding her shirt off. "Man, I hate rocks."

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry bit his lip when she started taking the shirt off, shaking his head and shaking off the feeling. He handed her a patch of gauze to wipe away the blood. "Let's not test your luck."

"I'm a lucky person." Babe quipped, wiping at the gauze. She'd apparently forgotten about the large scar over her kidney, and didn't seem to notice the way Rico's eyes widened as they landed on it.

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry's eyes caught the scar as well, and he immediately looked at Rico with a questioning gaze. "How does one get a scar like that?"

Babe stilled, her own eyes widening at the slip up. Her family didn't know. They weren't supposed to know, because it was another one of her secrets.

"I don't know." Rico said, his eyes never leaving his sister as she hurriedly reached for the clean shirt, to cover the scar and the mottled purple and yellow bruises. "Babe."

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry's expression grew more worried when Rico confessed he didn't know. He hesitated, not wanting to interfere with the family, but at the same time incredibly worried about whatever Babe was hiding.

Babe paused, eyes flickering between the two of them. "I-" She cut off, looking conflicted. She almost wanted to tell them, odd;y enough, but she couldn't risk it leaving the room. If her mom found out…

@BrennaKadavsky

"We aren't going to tell anyone." Henry said honestly, glancing over at the door. She wasn't denying it, wasn't lying about it. That, at least, seemed to be a good thing.

"Kid-kidney transplant." Babe finally said, voice a whisper after a long period of silence.

"What?" Rico stood quickly, eyes widening. "A kidney transplant? Why did you need a kidney? How'd you manage to hide that?"

@BrennaKadavsky

(Sorry I've been gone, my computer broke and I probably won't be on again for a while)
Henry stared at her for a moment. "A transplant? And no one noticed?" He stood abruptly to start pacing around the room, rubbing his head thoughtfully. "Why did you need a kidney transplant?"

"I didn't." Babe said, shaking her head as she looked down at her lap. "A friend of mine…he needed an emergency transplant, but there were none free. So I-I offered."

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry's eyes widened. "You gave someone your kidney?" And without her family noticing…. She was quite the girl of many talents.

"Wait. Wait wait wait." Rico said suddenly, his eyes managing to get wider. "Was it Grayson? Did you give your kidney to Grayson?"

Babe nodded once, fiddling with the sleeves of her over sized hockey hoodie.

(Wait who's Grayson?)

((That'd be her best friend back in New York. Her family has never really gotten to know him, and he just kinda looks like a scary, not-so-great guy))

(Oh thanks.)

@BrennaKadavsky

(Do we have a stalker? Incoherent squeaks)
Henry's mouth hung open as he looked back and forth between the two. He was suddenly questioning his life decisions. He hadn't realized Babe was quite this… Hidden? Unpredictable? He shook his head suddenly, taking a step closer to the two siblings. "I'm almost proud of you, Babe, but just how… Nevermind, I mean why? Besides… And your family didn't notice?"

"He's my best friend." Babe said, shaking her head. "Of course I'd do it. He almost died. As for no one noticing…I guess I'm just good at hiding things."

"I'll say." Rico grumbled, tugging a hand through his hair. Apparently, that was a trait quite a few of the siblings shared.

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry sat back down, nodding slowly. "Wow. But back to this, Babe, is anything still bleeding?"

"My nose, but I think it just needs reset." Babe said, crossing her eyes to look down at her nose despite the pain.

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry raised an eyebrow. "Or to not get beaten up. Keep the pressure on it, once it stops bleeding it'll hopefully be alright." He turned back to Rico. "Does she know enough about basic first aid, and do you trust her to use what she knows?"

"She's spent enough time playing hockey to pick up a bit." Rico said, tugging his hand through his hair once more. "She took a first aid course during our freshman year, too."

"I'm sittin' right here." Babe grumbled. not waiting for them to finish talking before reaching up. She pressed her fingers to her nose, and with a sickening crack, reset it herself.

@BrennaKadavsky

Henry stared at her in some kind of shock for a second before shaking himself away. "Well. Babe, I'm kind of past trusting you to take care of yourself. Coach doesn't like it when people can't keep themselves out of the kind of trouble that can leave scars. We had a couple seniors on the team last year who had some problems similar to yours. They didn't stick around."

"Hawk woulda done the same darn thing." Babe said, closing off visibly at what she perceived as a thinly veiled threat. She pressed her old shirt to the new rush of blood, eyes hardening as she looked up at Henry.
