Henry shook his head. "We'll see. With you on the team, we might have a chance, though. Which brings me to a weird topic." He glanced down at the ground, trying to figure out how to explain his request reasonably.

"What's up man?" Babe tilted her head to the side, blinking curiously as she watched him. Her hands were fiddling with anything and everything, be it her locket, her belt loops, or themselves.

"So, we totally understand if you say no. But if you want, our team traditionally takes the first weekend before the first game to camp out. Tents, smores, fishing, capture the flag, stuff like that. You're just the first girl we've had on the team since… Since any of us can remember."

"Are you askin' me if I wanna come along, Jacobs?" Babe asked, raising an eyebrow in amusement.

"Yes." He said it awkwardly, looking down at the ground with uncertainty. "I know you haven't had your meds, so I probably should have waited…"

"Dude, I'd love to come with." Babe said, grinning. "Y'know, all o' my old teams did stuff like that, but it was usually a weekend sleepaway camp at the beginning of the year, and tha' was it. Though, there were some fun things during them. One time, I filled Gemma McAvoy's pillow case with leaves and dirt, and she dumped it o'er my bed when she found out, an' somehow that started a pillow fight, an' then we all ended up with extra drills when Coach found out." She rambled, eyes unfocused.

Henry snapped his fingers to get her attention. 'So that's a yes? And you just passed the pizza place." He said, trying to control his laughter.

Babe blinked, her eyes uncrossing as she focused on him, before looking around. "Oh, whoops. And, yeah, I'll come along. What're y'all doin' this year?"

"Going up to an island, canoeing there, and spending the weekend up there. Next Friday, but we'll meet up to get food together and stuff before then." He started crossing the street, walking backward once he'd checked for traffic, to keep an eye on Babe.

She blinked again, only noticing they were crossing the street once he'd crossed, and hurried after him without looking both ways. "Sounds hella(is this okay? I've never quite considered it a swear) fun dude."

(It's fine)
"It always is." He said, still laughing as he lead her into the pizza place. It was dimly lit and quiet, only a few lone people still eating inside.

"Y'know, laughin' at people ain't nice." She said, nudging his shoulder. Her train of thought was once again lost as she looked around, taking in the pizza place. "Quaint. Cozy. Antonio's was always really loud."

(The name piqued my interest, I have to check this out. I don't know if this is still open or not but it never hurts to try, right?)

((Sadly, it is not, I'm just a flighty person and keep forgetting to change the title. Sorry man))

((You can stalk tho, we've already got one of those))

(Ah, got it. Never hurts to ask!)

(Greetings fellow.)

"Laughing at people's fun. It's one of my favorite pastimes." He pulled her over to the counter. "So, I know I dared you to eat three, but since you aren't medicated it probably isn't a good idea to believe you when you said yes. How does one pizza sound, and we can split it?"

"Of course I can eat three." Babe said, unconcerned by his hand on her arm and being tugged along. "My metabolism's through the roof righ' now. I'm basically a garbage disposal. Or a dog. Those function abou' the same way. Y'know, Rico really wanted to get a dog, but ma said it was too much work, and we ended up with a goose, which is funny, because they're so much work themselves."

Henry sighed with a grin. "We'll start with one." He said, interrupting her and giving an apologetic smile to the man on the other side of the counter. "Pepperoni?"

"Half olives." Babe said, fishing around her pocket for her wallet, which was in her other pocket. "I'm in an olive mood."

Henry nodded, ordering quickly and laying a few bills on the counter. "I made you sing, I'll pay for the food."

"I'm fully capable o' payin', Jacobs." Babe said, narrowing her eyes at him as she finally found her wallet,

"But I'm going to pay, so that's done." He gave her a satisfied smile as soon as his money disappeared into the cash register.

Babe grumbled, but gave up trying to convince him once his money was gone. "Fine, but I'm paying next time."

Henry conceded, finding a table a little ways away from the few other people. "So, what was your last hockey team like?" He asked, for need of a conversation starter.

"Cutthroat." Babe said, plopping down into her chair. "It was the best team in the district. They took the best players they could find, regardless o' gender, and made 'em pros."

Henry nodded. "We're the only team in the district." He said, shaking his head slightly. The kind of competition she'd had to deal with, he had no idea how to handle. He'd never had to.

"Tha' just mean you're already the best." Babe said, a grin lighting up her face as she fiddled with the straw she'd nicked from the counter.

Henry grinned despite himself. "I'll take that. We'll see, once competitions start." The pizza came out, already sliced and warm.
