"There's a painting in here," Tori gestured at the sunflower painting. "Maybe that's the key to the color palette. Or the vase."

Jesse turned to look at it. “Maybe. But then what would the initials be? Are there any initials on it?”

The sunflower painting looked like a replica of Vincent Van Gogh’s masterpiece; the Sunflowers. However, the Sunflowers were a series of paintings and this seemed to show only one of them. There was something else underneath the painting. It was a white sign that reads: 6th August 1945.

The vase had some flowers in it, namely roses of a white hue. Nothing was spectacular about the vase except for the small symbols on the side of the vase’s interior: VIICCLXVI.

Tori looked at the vase. "Does anybody know roman numerals?"

@PrettyLittlePyro

"I do," Taran said, looking up from the swords. "Do you not?"

group

"It never really applied to my life, so… no." Tori motioned toward the vase. "What are these numbers in… normal numbers?"

@MusicElle-is-here

“I do too,” Jesse added from his spot near the dragon above the door. He glanced back, assuming that Taran had it covered. The puzzle required letters, not numbers. Maybe it was the sunflower painting? V.G., for Van Gogh?

(So far, C Minor has been the single answer that is both correct and placed correctly. The “A.F.” Initial is correct but placed wrongly. Meaning that, right now… Monitor Dragon Head : _ _ C Minor, Door Dragon Head : _ _ (color palette) )

group

Tori went back to the dragon head over the monitor. "A and F are also musical notes. And you might be on to something with the V.G, Jesse." She walked over to the painting. "August 6th, 1945. That must mean something too."

@MusicElle-is-here

“So that would be, what, V.G. and yellow on this head and A.F. C minor on that one?” Jesse concluded, glancing between them. He wasn’t completely sure that was right, but it was the best they had so far. “But then what do we do with the date? Is there anything where we have to input numbers?”

group

"Maybe…" Tori looked back at the vase. "There's also something with the roman numerals on that vase."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Not that I can see at the moment, unless you count the clock. We could somehow add the numbers there." Taran looked bored. She didn't really like puzzles, preferring to do other, more useful things with her life.

Both of the dragons did not open their mouths, conveying that both of the passcodes were… incorrect. There were still somethings in question; mainly the Knight statue, the pile of newspapers, and the torn wallpaper. Perhaps they had some significant.

[ 2:00 PM ]

The grandfather clock chimed loudly…
It was time to open the letters…

group

"Well… time to open those letters. We can come back to this, maybe search the other things. I might have an idea about those newspapers." Tori made her way back to her seat, where she picked up the letter on the table.

@MusicElle-is-here

Jesse furrowed his brows, but followed Tori’s example and picked up his letter as well. “I guess I can check the Knight statue after this? Unless these letters tell us the answer…” he sounded doubtful as he opened his letter.

group

Tori opened her letter. "I'm kinda scared, honestly." She laughed nervously.

(Everyone got their first letter?)

@MusicElle-is-here

Jesse scanned the letter, rereading it just to be sure. He then folded it carefully and put it in the pocket of his jeans. “Alrighty then,” he said, going over to check the statue.

@MusicElle-is-here

(yep!)

group

(got it!)

Tori read her letter, then put it back in the envelope and tucked it in her pocket. "So what I was thinking," Tori said as she started across the room to the stack of newspapers, "Is that the Roman numerals or the date under the painting, maybe even both, could match up with a newspaper edition."

(Oh shit, someone’s actually going somewhere with the speculation XD)

Soon, the doors can be heard being unlocked from the outside. Presumably by the door boy. It was time to start the first task, it seemed.

@MusicElle-is-here

“That’s a great idea!” Jesse exclaimed. “Um, are we supposed to do the thing in our letter as soon as the door is opened?”

(lmao my dumb ass over here is more or less just making Jesse repeat what everyone else already came up with)

(Lmao. I was only useful for the piano piece bc I listen to a lot of classical music and I'm an orchedork (orchestra dork))

Amyr opened his letter, quickly skimming over the details. "Alright cool door's open… see y'all later." Without even a single response to Jesse's question, he walked over to the door, swung it open and walked out of the room.

group

"I'm gonna try and solve the dragon puzzle first." Tori picked the newspaper on top of the stack and checked the date.

@MusicElle-is-here

Jesse watched him leave with a shrug. “Whatever. Hey Tori, wanna meet up back here when we’re done? The letters did say not to tell anyone what was in them, so they seem like a solo thing…”

group

"Mine's a little different than yours, I think. I'll stay here and work on the puzzle. Come back here when you're done with your task, though."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Finally," Taran said, rolling her eyes at the sound of the door opening. "We can go somewhere else." She waved to the others mockingly. "I'm off, losers! Good luck with whatever you're doing!"
