She wrapped her arm around his back best she could to offer support, as they once again started off down the hall. She activated her magic just enough to sense blood in the vicinity, using it as a sort of lookout.

Aquarius knew that he should be the one to help her, but he was too tired. He had gotten tired very quickly, he thought. Almost as if he had been charmed by the Markan Waters… his eyes widened. “I think I know where we are!”
"Oh, thank god. 'Cause I'm about to scream." Kesari muttered, looking up at him. "Where?"
“Italy,” he said, fighting off the sleepiness. “There’s an enchanted fountain called Markan, and it protects an underground ruin.”
"Italy? How the fuck-" She shook her head a few times. "Nevermind. So the fountain makes you tired? Is there any way to combat that?"
“Not really,” Aquarius said. “I’m a siren. It affects me.”
Kesari groaned, shaking her head. "When I figure out who the hell is behind all this.."
“You’ll kill them?”? He said with a laugh. “I want to watch if you do.”
"You might change your mind about that." She said, her face darkening for a moment. "But let's focus on getting out."
Aquarius shrugged. “Lead the way.”
Kesari snorted, taking a right down a hallway as though she knew what she was doing, even though she definitely didn't.
Aquarius walked along behind her, digging his nails into his hand so he wouldn’t fall asleep.
Kesari looked back at him, furrowing her brows in thought, before reaching up and pulling out one of her earrings and handing it to him. "Here. That should help."
“Thanks?” He said, staring down at it, looking slightly confused.
"Use it to pierce the skin." She explained, noting his confusion. "You were using your nails, but that might help too. I've…used it a few times, when I've been drugged."
“Okay,” he said, stabbing his arm with it. It helped some, but he still felt sleep creeping over the back of his mind.
She paused, feeling around with her magic, before starting off down a hallway to the left. "People. This way, I think."
“Friendly or not?” Aquarius asked.
Kesari looked over at him, raising an eyebrow. "If I could tell that by blood, I could've avoided half of my near death experiences."
He snorted but said nothing else. Pulling a hand through his hair, he ignored the blood, trailing down his arm to his face.
After a few more minutes, Kesari pulled to a sudden stop, grabbing Aquarius to stop him. Just a few moments later, voices could be hear, coming towards them.
Aquarius tilted his head. He heard voices, but not what they were saying. Sleep tried to fog his brain
"God-don't fucking fall asleep on me." Kesari pointed at him, drawing her knife once more.
“I won’t,” He slurred, stabbing his arm again.
In a last ditch attempt to jumpstart his brain long enough to survive the next encounter, she stepped forward, grabbing the front of his shirt and yanking him down to kiss him.
Aquarius blinked in surprise as she slammed her lips on his. He felt as though a bucket of cold water had been dumped over him.
Kesari pulled away after a few moments, turning back towards the sound of the nearing voices. "Please, stay awake. I want to get you out of this."
“Yes ma’am,” he said. Blinking away sleep, he rubbed his eyes and pinched his arm.
Two men turned the corner just then, both coming to a halt and blinking in surprise at the sight of Kesari and Aquarius.
“Hi,” he said
